If they unlock the device with the purchase of 1 year plan, I am in. If not, no go for me. :\
great phone!
I used to get the newest samsung flagship each year, so glad I switched to this. the phone is still as snappy as the day I got it, great battery life and screen. make sure you buy a cover for the camera (ask me how i know lol).
the only android that's a direct competitor is the pixel pro.
after 3-4 years of daily use most phone battery usually degraded and has to be replaced

I have Tmobil service. Can I buy this phone and pop my Tmobil Sim card in since boost would use Tmobil anyway?

No, only will work on Boost for 1 year, after that it will unlock and then you may use it on T-Mobile

Idk why curved screens get so much hate, they look nicer.
-they take up precious screen space. look at your curved screen phone, only maybe 80-90% is usable because of those curves. and it will distort video in that area etc too. when every nanometer of screen area is so important on a phone.

-supposedly they are more fragile because the glass is thinner at the curves, altho i'm not really sure about this.

-much more difficult (impossible?) to put your own screen protector on

that said to each his own, they've typically reduce the curves so much from their peak a few gens ago, they arent too bad anymore anyway.

If I buy this device along with service, is there a deadline by which the service needs to be activated. I switched to total by Verizon iphone 11 deal and plan to switch after 2 months. Is that feasible?

Also does this unlimited talk/text include free calling to India?

According to the Wiki in this thread - https://slickdeals.net/f/17479056-1-year-of-boost-unlimited-30gb-moto-g-stylus-5g-2023-for-160

Q: I want to port my number in but I still have a few months left with my other provider. Can I delay activation that long?
A: Because this deal includes a phone, the phone must be activated within 30 days of purchase.

Hope that helps.

Why would you say $15/mo for their $25 service?.

Because I value a plan based on the value it provides me personally.

I'm a light data user. Usually on WiFi, Never use hotspot, and rarely use over 2gb/mo.

So, I value a 1-year "good enough for me" plan at about $12/mo, which is what I pay for service.

If the bundled plan offers more, it's still a $12/mo value to me. I won't use the extra stuff, so I'm not willing to pay for it.

If you are a user that uses 30gb and hotspot, you might assess the plan as having more value.

Exactly. I currently pay $10/mo for my 2GB US Mobile plan, and most months that 2GB is enough. They charge $2 for each additional GB, so certain months I end up paying $12. So I am in the same situation as you. I value a yearly plan at the same amount. Around $12 a month. Or round it up to $150 a year. That would give me 2GB every month, and an additional 15GB to use whenever I need more data. All data can be used in Hotspot mode with my $10 plan.

US Mobile also has a 10GB annual plan for $180 ($15 a month), but that plan only enables hotshop with an additional $30 yearly. The last 6 months I have been fine with just 2GB monthly as I am always on wifi, so it looks like I may be able to get by with spending close to $120 a year.

Correct, no known way to unlock it earlier than one year with boost

If I obtain a black SIM before the phone arrives and I select the option to keep my existing number, can I use the black Sim during activation to ensure I get the AT&T network? Has anyone done this? Since we are buying a year up front it seems pretty important to be on the network of our choice. It sounds like these typically come with the T-Mobile sim, and that service is poor in my area.

Any comments?

I never understood why you limit the charge of your phone. Slow charging the phone is probably better than the stupid 80% limit. You will move to a different phone before the battery is degraded bad enough. Even if it is degraded, they sell cases with a battery built in.
