Yes, they are. Extra $50 for PS5/Series X and extra $25 for Switch/Series S.
Damn, should've waited. Traded my PS5 for $330 a week ago, could've snagged $380 today. Oh, well. I only paid $100 for it, so I can't really complain 😁

GameStop trade in can be a great tool if you put in the leg work to find good values. I used to make tons of credit trading in first party Wii stuff, which, up until this year, I could get more via GameStop than eBay after fees/shipping.

This is the way. I made hundreds of dollars in credit when they ran this promo last month by buying cheap games on Facebook/OfferUp and trading them in for credit.

Back during Covid, I had close to $1500 in credit over the course of 4-5 months. Wii sports was trading for $30 with a bump; Mario kart Wii was even more.
Now Wii is in the early days of collectible status and GameStop has dropped trade values to pathetic levels.
I've learned the hard way not to bother trading anything in at GameStop. Lowball offers.
Also, my Pro membership just expired and I'll never renew again. Their recent policies in the past year or two have really made it clear that their corporate doesn't care about customers:
-Pro membership went up to $25 (used to be $15)
-The monthly $5 coupon no longer works on digital items or currency.
-Any points you accrue from buying things will be removed from your account if you don't renew
-Same with any coupons you redeem with the points (even though the coupons say good until end of the year)
-The Pro membership gets you 5% off collectibles...how convenient that they raised the prices of all the collectibles, especially TCGs
Counterpoints to some of these:
- They currently have the renewal for $20, until end of the month I believe. I just resubbed today. I'm also getting 5,000 points for renewing, which is good for another $5 toward mostly anything.
- The $5 monthly for digital currency was a loophole for a good while. Most stores I was around said no, but the one I was closest was usually pretty lax about it. They were losing money on these for a long while, but Pro still gets you 5% off gift cards year round, the only place matching this is Target with their RedCard.
- Point accrual is a benefit. It makes sense it would be tied to a subscription to add "value". I'm with you on this, but I see why they keep it behind the sub.
- Pro got me 10% off today. I bought two Funkos, used my monthly, and received 10% off the collectibles. Prices were the same as in the past, one was $15, the other was $13.
I do agree the value isn't as great as it was two years ago in some ways, but it certainly has a value either way. They could easily increase the value greatly on this sub if they added free shipping or a lower free shipping threshold pirce.
As it is, you can hate GameStop all you want, but they are one of the last bastions of physical gaming. So long as I can continue to avoid their "Opened New" copies, I will keep buying there. As for offloading used copies, try Marketplace.

You aren't getting 5k points for renewing, that stopped several months ago.

Nintendo has committed to physical for its next system, so I doubt that retailers like Walmart and Target would stop selling cartridges; and even if they did, I typically get physical games from Amazon anyway. GameStop has become "power to the profits" and needs to go under.
