The quality has gone down hill, this is basically half mulch and dirt now. If you need to save money filling a large bed then at most id use it for the bottom layer. Use an equal mixture of peat moss, black kow and mini pine bark nuggets. 9 cubic feet will cost you $50 at Lowe's vs $30 of this garbage but will be MUCH better for your vegetables.

oops my mistake, these are 1 cubic feet bags not 0.75 so it would cost $22.5 for 9 cubic feet, but I stand by my word it's mostly junk now.

I don't see a limit of 3 showing for me, but i bought 40 for 100 and they said nothing, i ordered online for store pick up.

Might be a bit heavy if its an elevated bed. But great for anything on the ground. For elevated you need to mix in peat.

Drainage! Pots need lighter packed soil/air space that drains well for good root development. Garden Soil is good for raised beds/garden beds with the larger space/drainage, but will compact on you in small pots over waterings - choking out root growth/leading to root rot due to poor drainage. That being said you can buy this stuff and a bag of perlite (the little white volcanic rock stuff), mix the 2 up and you now have a nice soil with airspace added with the perlite.

Mix in a bale of sphagnum or perlite at about 20% of your total mix to lighten it up. Garden soil will work, but is too dense by itself imho

potting soil is perlite, peat moss, composted manure and top soil. Quantity is order of greatest to least. Top soil is optional.

Peat moss, and pine bark are acidic, they made good mix for citrus, berries and may not best suit for other plants.

For container growing, you should use soilless growing medium.
