Ace Hardware [acehardware.com] has for Reward Members (free to sign up [acehardware.com]) the 1-Cubic Ft. Miracle-Gro All Purpose Garden Soil on sale for $2.50 with free store pickup. Note: limit 3 (limit may be YMMV).

If you missed the recent Home Depot Frontpage deal for the 0.75 cu-ft bag (now expired), this Ace Hardware deal is definitely worth considering.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

The quality has gone down hill, this is basically half mulch and dirt now. If you need to save money filling a large bed then at most id use it for the bottom layer. Use an equal mixture of peat moss, black kow and mini pine bark nuggets. 9 cubic feet will cost you $50 at Lowe's vs $30 of this garbage but will be MUCH better for your vegetables.

oops my mistake, these are 1 cubic feet bags not 0.75 so it would cost $22.5 for 9 cubic feet, but I stand by my word it's mostly junk now.
I don't see a limit of 3 showing for me, but i bought 40 for 100 and they said nothing, i ordered online for store pick up.

That kills it for me. That is exactly what I had in mind for it.

There is a $20 rebate on 10 bags max. I ended up buying 70 bags and sending my friends the rebates. I bought mine at menards and with the 11% rebate, it came out to 36 cents a bag.

Peat moss, and pine bark are acidic, they made good mix for citrus, berries and may not best suit for other plants.

I use this mix for EVERYTHING and it has done amazing, over time the PH will go to neutral with watering anyways unless you add an acidifier to keep it low for berries.
Just add perlite if you need quicker drainage.
