It is an excellent price for the specs, but personally, I will not buy any ASUS laptops before they make any changes.
I don't understand the content perfection you're seeking here in the SD forums. If someone's post is useful, say thanks or rep or just move on. If someone's post doesn't stroke you in just the right way, also just move on. We're a community. Great laptop for the price. Even better at the $672 open box (excellent) price.
Anybody know how easy it is to replace the battery... when the time comes?
Usage would be office stuff, maybe some very light photo/video editing, plus web browsing and media playback. No gaming. The difference in price is in the budget, but saving $200+ if I can is always slick. The Acer arrived over the weekend but I haven't set it up/messed with it yet.

I just replaced the battery yesterday in a Zenbook 14 with the 5500u and MX-450. Quite simple, T5(?) screwdriver and a cross screwdriver along with a guitar pick. 10 minutes at most. Just don't rush anything.
I could only find it from laptopbatterydirect in my model (Q408UG) but it was relatively cheap. That was the biggest hurdle was finding a place that carried it. OEM battery lasted 3 years while always being at 100%. ASUS app can set to 60, 80 or 100%.

I have some ASUS products from 2021 that have "issues" but are functional and basically their warranty process was unless it's catastrophic failure they refused to do anything about it. And from what I hear is ASUS quality in the last 1-2 years has worsenedā¦. And their warranty center is ran by, only way I can describe it, sounds like the typical scam call center you hear about in India. Yikes

You have the laptop sitting in front of you, and you are asking other people to compare it????
I will give you my perspective on your Acer laptop which I DON'T have in front of me (yet). I have been looking at 13-14 inch laptops for over a year because I haven't been desperate for one yet to settle for anything. I have not seen a 14 inch laptop that has 16:10 350+nits touchscreen, 16gb, backlit keyboard, usb-c charging, 13th gen processor, all metal build, less than 2.9 lbs for under $500. If some of those things are not important to you, then fine. If there are things it is lacking that you need, then only you would know that. If it is sitting in front of you and you don't like something about it, let us know (not the other way around). Otherwise, enjoy your short-lived fabulous deal you got in on.
