My 900 ft/lbs breakaway air impact living in the Midwest begs to differ that 1400 ft/lbs breakaway is overkill.
Yes, even my older gen 20V Dewalt that's "only" 1200 ft/lbs has not been able to remove some rusted bolts. I have that and a mid level 450ft/lb 3/8" one. It's crazy how many times a bolt/nut wouldn't even flinch at 450ft/lbs and then 1200 ft/lbs breaks it free as soon as I pull the trigger 😂

overkill unless you're removing lug nuts off combines or tractors.

I use DCF891B which is cheaper, lighter and removes my Model Y lug nuts just fine.
is this a troll post? or are you really that clueless? you know there are other parts of a car that may require an impact, right?

Can you guys recommend an all-around Dewalt Impact Wrench, would this be the first impact wrench to get or another one?

I have the previous gen dcf899 and my friend has this. The 899 is impressive but this absolutely spanks the hell out of it. We use our 1/2 wrenches on old clothes washer basin nuts, seized on bike freewheels and fork lift nuts. Mine takes a minute, his is instant. However I also paid closer to $120 for mine but I would get this one if you even anticipate working on something corroded in the future. I would skip the mid torque unless you need clearance because the mode setting on this is so good.

Depends on your use, but if you're doing mostly house stuff, some woodwork here or there, drilling into thin metal, something like DCF885 will work and get the job done. If you're working on your car, you might get by with it on bolts that don't need high torque such as brake calipers but anything heavier duty like remove lug nuts or major car components won't work as well.

Also this model in the post uses a detent pin which might not fit most of your traditional power drill attachments so keep that in mind. Also lugging that beast of a drill is super heavy and not small by any means so won't work well in tight areas. But…like me I did buy it for the future if I ever needed it, and sure enough I did so you can consider it a future investment as well Smilie

Not a troll. 99% of people are not taking out their engine or transmission. Most people are removing lug nuts from their car or changing out their mower blade which the DCF891B is better suited for because it's lighter and cheaper.

This goes on sale twice a year from Bomgaars with one 5 ah battery and charger for $200 and it was on I think Woot yesterday or the day before for $300 with two 5 ah batteries. Not a deal at this price for a bare tool. And the DCF961 bare tool is $279 right now on woot.

Funny how people mention lug nut removal as if that is a big deal. A cheaper mid-torque is fine for lug nut removal. This is for removing Honda crank bolts and axle nuts when you need some real muscle. I too would wait for the similar deal with a battery. Just make sure you get a decent battery, the a 2AH battery is not going to give you all this tool is capable of.
