Amazon last time when I asked for my Lego to be in a box it didn't. Luckily it was not damage but in truth be careful also with amazon.

I've had really good luck lately, especially with the larger sets. They've packaged them in a box the size of the LEGO set, then packaged into a big box with the air filled packs. Very nice overall.

So, is this functional once built? Does it actually play games?

Depends on your dealer

YMMV: $48 clearance at the North Attleboro, MA Target as of Friday night. Almost bought one, then I remembered that I have ADHD and it would just join all of the other unbuilt sets in my basement.

At $120-$130, this is a deal for me. I'm just hoping Kohl's packages it well. Amazon comes nice in an outer box within another box, but Walmart just tosses them in a thin bag, which always comes busted up.

Kohl's poly bags too, ymmv

Not a dumb question, I thought the same.
For this kinda price you would think they would have one of those cheap all-in-one boards that got installed to actually make it operate. otherwise, I don't get this at all...well I sorta do. But, if I'm going to spend time building things, those things better actually do something. Wink

I paid *less* for a new original 2600 during a Christmas sale that year... Still have it. Maybe I should get it out and put it on display with a few Lego mini-figs around it and call it done...

I love this and it hits that nostalgia button; only we had an old turntable next to the TV and Atari not a boom box
