I'll never pay $1k for a chair, but those StaplesMax chairs for $150 and under are crap and technology has little to do with that argument. $300 is a genuine entry price for getting something that starts to resemble quality.

Got this chair back in 2020 for around the same price when I started working from home. Absolutely love the chair and haven't had any issues with it so far.

Outside of the Herman Miller Aeron, this is the only chair that doesn't give me back pain.

All cheap chairs hurt my back, even the ones with "good" reviews online. The Hyken chair I tried at the local Staples seemed like something that would break within a few years.

Yup, still using one from 2012 only I got for 175 on black Friday with a boat load of coupon abuse. I only had to buy replacement arm rest covers and a new cylinder, rest of it still going strong.

I got the WorkProÂŽ 12000 Series Ergonomic Mesh/Fabric Mid-Back as well and keep on going back to this chair overall. One of my favorite chairs under 400$.

This is a great chair, used it since 2020, but I paid a heck of a lot less $285 and can't say I'd pay that much to replace mine.

If you're mainly into this for the mesh seat, check out this one from costco:

I've been using this chair in my office job for the last 9 years now. There have been days where I will put a number of hours into the chair without getting up, which is really nice productivity-wise. Granted, we're all different so my experience may not be the same as somebody with a different body type etc.

My chair was already here when I got hired so depending on when it was bought it could have been here for 10 years or longer and it's still going.

The front of the armrest coverings are starting to come off, but it's not the end of the world for me.
The gas cylinder leaks at times, but I'm also over the weight limit and so I don't really fault it for that.

When I was a 911 dispatcher we used Herman Miller Mirra chairs and they were comfortable as well but a tad narrow for me personally. I believe the bottom seat was a little more tapered and less comfortable but only after a number of hours.

I've had the 12000 for like 5 years and it's been fantastic! This seems very similar but just missing the headrest. Cool, comfortable, and works as well as the day I got it. I probably use it nearly 8 hours a day

Not comparable at all. That is garbage compared to this one.

I had this same chair and used it for 10+ hours every day in conjunction with a memory foam seat cushion. I still have my previous model with the cushion seat and I was able to buy new armrest replacements directly from the manufacturer when the foam started degrading. It's nice to know this chair is built to sit in all day and you can easily get replacement parts instead of throwing it away when it breaks.

I have this one at home, and it's definitely not the same as the workpro I use at work.

The chair is definitely not bad at $100, which is why I bought it for home, but mine squeaks up a storm with every movement I make. It also does not feel quite as well built as the workpro, and I do get slightly uncomfortable after maybe a couple hours versus all day in the workpro. Overall decent for
the budget minded vs other chairs in the same price range, imo.

at the 300 range I would look for a used Steelcase Leap v2

this workpro 9000 is ok for $300 if you must purchase new and like mesh seats.

Have this for 10 years, still counting. More comfortable than the HM Aeron I had in the office that costs 6x. The only downside is arm support cannot be fixed from horizontal tilting.

Lmfao. These aren't comparable AT ALL. This chair is the SD perennial leader for non-Herman Miller and Steelcase but a quality chair that you can sit in 12 hours per day at a "cheap" price (ask me how I know). That Costco chair is hot garbage.

This chair embarrasses the Hyken and Dexley chairs that are on here often from Staples. And it should. It's 2-3x as expensive but for people who sit in it 8-12 hours per day for years, it's worth the difference.

Spend money on anything between you and the ground.
