This popular deal is back! I ordered one last time and it was delivered to CA in 2 days. Had a manufacture date of Sep. 2023 and looked brand new with no scratches.

What is everyone's problem with Newegg? I've been buying from them since 2005 (if memory serves) and never had a problem with their customer service on any product. Besides, Newegg is just the storefront here, goHardDrive is the actual seller and shipper on this deal. I'd grab a pair of these without hesitation, except I just ordered a pair of 18TB drives last week for $135.00 each.
Go on YouTube and watch Gamers Nexus. They did a report about Newegg.
Newegg refurb no thanks

You think a HDD is somehow different from an HDD? It's all just noise, let it go please.
Yes, not all hard drives are the same. In my testing, WD/HGST Ultrastars perform about 20% better in sequential reads/writes and access time, compared to similar drives shucked from externals. Oh, and they're noisier too.

No!
There is no difference aside from the endless noise made about 1 HDD vs the next. All the same pieces and parts, rinse and repeated!

I emailed about the warranty. Let's see what they reply to me about it. Is it none, two years, or five years?

Last time I tried buying something from them, the product page showed one price and the cart showed another (no coupon codes for the product). I guess they didn't think I'd notice the cart went up $430...

It is 5 years. I messaged them and they explicitly stated it is five year when I missed the description on the page itself that too mentions, 5 year seller warranty. Also, when I received the product, which arrived DOA, the invoiced receipt states 5 year warranty on it.

Coupon bugs exist on all sites, and frankly it costs them money to fix any mess ups like that, its not a way to make money.

This thread is a disaster.

The anti-Newegg people think they're sticking it to China. There, done.

As for the reliability weirdos: Put these drives in RAID5 setup and call it a day.

Raid5 in very large drives is bad, it can actually increase your chance of total failure because rebuilds take so long.

For large drives you really need raid6 and even better if you have a spare on hand.

No one is sticking it to China. Newegg's service has just gone to sh… They are a shadow of the great etailer they once were. And RAID5? Yeah, no.

Who/what died and made the "USA"..... GOD?
If this is a democracy and we believe in freedom, then why do we forcefully try to control everyone else, globally? This is some of that special government math were 2+2='s 3.
