YMMV i purchased 2 and was able to Bypass port requirement it only needs text verification to order. After getting device activate on total website click activate at top of page>One you've purchased through Total Wireless>I want a newer number. Plan is tied to phone IMEI when activating.

That said I have been burnt enough times and learnt the hard way to stay away from them. At least with Metro the system rejects orders beforehand. With Tracfone the issues happen after you get the phone…if something goes wrong in activation the customer service outrigjt lies and wastes your time .
That was NOT my case a few months ago, I needed to talk to CSR for unlocking.
The camera is good but not splendid. The screen looks good but has lagged touch register/none-register issue. Overall this phone is buggy and not worth the MSRP of $699. $100 seems like a fair price if you don't have other choice.

And I would also check to see if this version A54 even has C-Band (n77). It probably does, but I would make certain as C-Band is VERY important for Verizon 5G data.

I really can't imagine Total by Verizon selling a phone that is missing critical Verizon bands. I highly doubt they are pushing greymarket/non-USA models.

But, the a35 has:
- a 0.2" larger screen
- an extra year of software updates
- Other insignifcant daifferences (slightly different camera, glass, colors but pretty equivalent)
- Benchmarks slightly faster, probably because it's tested on Android 14/6.1 instead of 13.
- Since they are nearly identical, if Samsung had issues with the a54, they probably fixed them in the a35. There are reports that heating under stress and perfomance throttling as a result may be one of these issues.
I was actually eyeing the a35 because I have old eyes and need a big screen, but I think this deal can hold me until I get a super-fantastic deal on an a35.
