Previously I also did a lot of Metro and Tracfone deals to give to friends and family.

That said I have been burnt enough times and learnt the hard way to stay away from them. At least with Metro the system rejects orders beforehand. With Tracfone the issues happen after you get the phone…if something goes wrong in activation the customer service outrigjt lies and wastes your time .

I saw quite a few comments on "unlocked automatically after 60 days"
That was NOT my case a few months ago, I needed to talk to CSR for unlocking.

I had this phone for about 5 months. The battery sucks, the SOT was about 4 hours on a full charge, and AccuBattery estimated it even lower. The phone heated a lot. Both issues should be caused by Samsung's in house 1380 chipset (fabricated by Samsung as well). I had a OnePlus Nord 20 at the same price range that lasted about 11- 12 hours SOT on a full charge without heating issues.

The camera is good but not splendid. The screen looks good but has lagged touch register/none-register issue. Overall this phone is buggy and not worth the MSRP of $699. $100 seems like a fair price if you don't have other choice.

If you have Chase Freedom or US Bank Cash+ credit card, check for 15% back (up to $15) offer for Total purchase. Expires on 6/5/24.
Where did you find it?

It isn't listed in the deals section for my chase freedom card website.

What is the cheapest and/or easiest way to establish a new phone number with account at another carrier in order to bring the number over to Total by Verizon for this deal?
I see replies suggesting Google Voice and TextNow. At one point I used a promo code for a Visible eSIM and I would also explore Tello via eSIM. Both of those companies share the port out info without hassle. 100minutes with 1GB data is six bucks for Tello.

Look in the Chase Offer of your Chase account. See attachment below. It's in the lower-right corner. You might not have it.

I hate slickdeals. I have 7 phones lying around from the various Total and Metro deals. Why do I buy them? I don't know. Why is it so addictive? I don't know.

I guess those 7 are getting another new friend.
I have similar issue i have three phones right now that are active that I use daily. Unnecessary really. Don't buy the phone man you don't need it save your money.

Love the avatar!

I don't think this phone was ever $699. I think it was $450 at most. Midrange phone.

The overheating issue is real - this phone should not be put under heavy processing stress like gaming (midrange phone - not meant for that). It will overheat then slow down to protect itself.

They supposedly fixed that issue in the new a35 with the same chipset. I suspect this is why the a35 is larger - to dissipate heat.

To improve battery life and performance, I would recommend not running at 120hz. That's a significant stress for non-flagship chipsets. I also turn off 5G (who needs that kind of speed? And it sucks up battery.).

Hopefully, Android 14 and OneUI 6.1 (just released for this phone) will fix some of the bugginess and other issues. But yes, it would do better with a purer android experience - perhaps a custom ROM - that's why I tend to prefer Pixels.

Nord is a very good phone, but OnePlus isn't as generous with Android and security updates, and has fewer options for supported custom ROMs.

OnePlus, Motorola and Galaxy. And I have another three or four phones laying around not used. It's really ridiculous it gets addictive getting deals on this app. By the way this phone only has 6 GB of RAM and it's known to be laggy because Galaxy has heavy OS so you really want minimum 8 gigs of RAM on Galaxy phones anyways.
