Seasons 6 and 7 were filmed for widescreen though, but Vudu also says full screen for them. So that might not be good.
The original DVDs of seasons 1 through 5 were full screen, but the reissues were widescreen. There's a particular scene I remember where people are crowded together watching an interrogation that looks tense in 4:3. In 16:9, it looks really weird because there's all this open space on their sides.
Seasons 6 and 7 were only released in widescreen.

It would be the true original aspect ratio (4:3) for seasons 1 through 5 if Vudu is correct in saying it's "full screen." Those episodes were intended to be seen in 4:3.

"The Shield" has an average rating of 8.7 on IMDB. Not what I'd call an underrated series. 🙂

Also, this show, like 99% of shows, does not depict how homicide departments really work. Detectives do not have a heart of gold, they just want to clear cases.

There are people in every profession that don't necessarily belong. People are drawn to law enforcement for the power and respect that comes with the job. At least they used to..
The media determine whether something is MA, not the provider. If there are shows that are MA, I'm not aware of them. Most (if not all) shows are not MA.
