So I already have 2 of the RP-1400SW... been waiting for this in black. Anyone have an opinion on the RP-502S as the surround speakers in a 5.2.4 setup? I have two RP-8000F's on backorder at Crutchfield but I'm thinking of canceling that. That would also leave me with 3 RP-1400SW's which seems a bit overkill (room is 15 deep by like 30 wide).
Can you use the 502s in that aspect yes but they're not ideal for object based soundtracks imo.
You will be paying for speakers you won't use in the built in modules.
With RCs like the new Directional sub integration with Audyssey and Dirac Live Bass Control, more subs are a significant benefit imo.
This is an amazing deal. I just spent 200 more 2 weeks ago buying this on 2 different orders. I bought 2 of the subs then the surrounds. If you're on the fence, buy it! This is a STEAL!

I have a theater area that has one wall open to a game room. I currently have the 502s as my side surrounds.
The dolby standards don't recommend bipole speakers. However in my case having limited mounting areas and 2 rows of seating i was able to use these placed slightly forward of the back row and i have enjoyed the results while listening from both rows.
I believe a dream scenario would be going to 9 our 11 base layer speakers would be ideal. However i enjoy my setup as is.
I'm using this same setup posted with 2 rp 1400. I just ordered the 500sa also posted on slickdeals to add atmos.

I was thinking about those 500SA's also - the previous owner had some Polk cube speakers mounted high so I was going to give those a shot as Atmos heights before I did that though.
My main problem is our couch is against the wall and having bookshelfs on stands on both sides of us seems a bit awkward, as I have kind of a weird space: https://imgur.com/a/pvzBEGX
You're not wrong but Wilson is high end boutique made in USA and they run into the cost of a house. These Klipsch RP speakers are mass produced in China. You can test these at Best Buy on the rack which I admit are not great and oversized for their sound. But Klipsch Heritage retro speakers are legendary and still made in Arkansas but cost a lot while being way more affordable than Wilson. You are comparing a Rolex to a Timex.
I always go back to Klipsch due to the horn for clear dialogue and sound clarity, especially for home theater. For the price that these often go on sale..nothing can beat it. Yea the Arendal or perlisten would, but those are way expensive.
These aren't sale prices, this is their actual retail value. This company deceptively uses these "sales" to make you think you're getting a good deal.
It doesn't mean this isn't worth $2k, it just means that you can probably find better systems for the same price factoring in actual sales.
I personally won't buy from this company because of this.

Only Adorama has these deals, everywhere else is selling these at or near MSRP. Similar to Microcenter for computer parts.
What are the better systems that has a 7.0 package and a subwoofer of this caliber for this price...? Post some deals here; if not, stop spewing nonsense.

I wouldn't bother. Someone says this in every Klipsch deal and nobody can ever post anything similar in the same price range. It's just the "KliPsCh BaD" echo chamber from people that have probably never even heard them.

lol I get a kick out of the ones that say… PM me I can help you find what will sound good to you with some info BUT they already know this(Klipsch) won't be a good one! 🙄😆

Thanks, but looking for black, not walnut!
