Please stay away from the Mirai. The hydrogen/H2 fuel costs $36/kg. The $15K fuel card they will give is good for 25K miles. It'll cost ~$180 to fill up, which is good for ~300 miles. I'm part of a telegram group of Mirai owners. Many there cannot get near to 400 miles advertised range, no matter how hard they try. People in SolCal have to deal with unreliable H2 stations. People in SF just had their only 3 local stations closed permanently.

The newest generation of the Outlander is a really good looking, decent vehicle. If you buy, just expect to keep it for a long-time as resale is awful. Getting the PHEV and keeping it for the duration of the long warranty period wouldn't be awful though.

How come you hate Nissan ? Please explain.
Because they source their CVT transmissions from Jatco and are notoriously prone to failure after relatively few miles. Most need replacement ($5K) after about 60,000 miles

Question is. How much is the monthly?

For the low end at around $35k it's about $735 range since it is about $21 per $1,000 financed with the 48 month financing.

I bought a 2023. I really enjoy it. We have the mid level SE and bought at invoice. The big selling point for us was the 3rd row seating (this is the cheapest new 3rd row in the market). We have. 2 kids and we're tired of having to take 2 cars anywhere when someone visited from out of town. You will not put adults in the third row.

As to power. I was initially concerned about the low HP but it is fine. No problems getting on the highway or passing in the highway. You definitely notice though if you load the car up (see third row) and need to adjust your driving.

We have fabric seats and they are great and our trim has leather trim which is nice. We got the package that includes 360 camera and adaptive cruise control and larger center screen and was well worth the extra spend.

The only concern I have about owning this car is the dealership experience. I wanted to put a hitch on it and dealership recommended we go to a 3rd party installer. We needed and extra key made and again they recommended we go to an outside lock smith. The locksmith was able to tell me that the previous year they kept frying computers when doing work that included electronics and lost a lot of money in the process. I do not plan on owning this past the electronic warranty date for that reason.

Edited to add: get the red one if you get one. It's really nice (like the Mazda red) and makes it look a more premium vehicle than it is.

The Kia EV9 is offering $12K off or 0%, makes it $50K, it's a huge SUV.

Seems like a great time to get into EV. Depending on if Trump or Biden wins, could be better or worse next year. Trump like to ride the D of Big Oil, he already promised to end all EV incentives. Biden is obviously the greener president.

Motorweek has one in their long term fleet at the moment. They have given it pretty good reviews. Comfortable and gets good mileage for a vehicle of its type. If you get the PHEV version - it has 248hp and 332lb/lbs, so it isn't underpowered.

The article you linked states that you can either get the cash discount of 7.5k - 12k OR the 0% financing. You can't get both.

The Fed can't reduce interest rates because it's less profitable for its share holders, so you'll see the market react with "deals"like this when no one can afford anything and credit is unreachable at current limits.

Blame low interest rates? Nah it's the animal spirits.

Why? We had a 1993 Maxima that lasted about 20 years. The power windows did fail on it though.

I had 1998 Maxima that was nothing but troubles. Gave it away to charity after the fuel tank started leaking once full. The biggest problem was with the fuel lines during cold weather. 32 outside? Car smells like gas.

Our local and only Mitsubishi dealer is at very shady area, they out of business so many times I can't tell, new ownership again. The lot of full of sad ugly Outlanders, 48 months 0% apr is not good enough to step into that place Frown

I think these are made in Japan. Boring but probably super reliable and well built.

Idk why he'd have a problem with Nissan's engines; they're fine. The transmission is a CVT, which used to be more of a problem than it is now. You couldn't count on the first couple generations of CVTs to last much more than 100k miles. That hasn't been the case for a while now, though. They're much more durable.

Nissan used to be as good as Toyota/Honda and made good cars. Now they're basically the Chrysler of Japan sadly.

Agreed. I've been stuck in a Nissan Rogue lease for 3 years which ends in August. Piece of S.H.I.T car.

Ive had 2 mistus since 2008 and they have been perfect vehicles. I love the Outlander but the 3rd row is cramped even for little kids and theres no 2nd row captain chair option. They are great vehicles though.

No more Mitsu-SHITTI for me. They screwed me over back in the late 80's with a bad engine design in my Montero. I wound up paying for 2 engines as they kept cracking and wouldn't cover my model year in their recall.
