For anyone who doesn't know, this is THE quintessential g-shock. It pays tribute to the second g-shock model the dw-5200 that was in the iconic hockey puck ad in 1984. That watch was the watch that saved g-shock and was nicknamed "Hero".
The 5600 was first released in the late 80s and has been in many movies including "Speed" in the early 90s. That movie helped the model catch on with the public.
The watch is rated to 200m water resistance and is tough as nails. Holds the record for surviving being run over by the heaviest truck. It's NASA certified and has been to space many times.
The reason it is on clearance is there is a newer version that has a white LED backlight instead of the classic green electroluminescence. I like the look of the traditional green light better, but the new version has improved battery life.
The biggest negatives of the 5600s in my opinion is the adjust button on the top left is very recessed to prevent accidental button press. This makes it very difficult for some people to press. I had to spend a long time figuring out how to press it with my thumb finger nail. Also, the replaceable battery is only rated for 2 years. But many people get 5 and even more. It depends how much you use the backlight etc

Dude 🧉 let me know what you mean?
YMMV. Good luck!
Got mine today and had the same concerns, but it passed the 3 button test so I feel good about it.
Yup they didn't have any solar versions. I got my money refunded and got to keep the watch. Also I have a $10 coupon for my next purchase. All I did was send a nice mannered email saying it was missing the feature that I really wanted on the watch. Good luck to any that may do the same. YMMV.
Everyone might not be willing to do this but since it was so affordable I decided to to do the following. I swapped the recessed button to a different location. Some might prefer to swap it with the light button, I personally swapped the adjust button (the one originally recessed) with the start/stop button (the top right button) as I don't plan to use it as often compared to the light. Make sure you take your time putting the clips back on the inside of each button. That was the hard part for me personally.

Metal cases in all different colors can be had for $20 on eBay and they look great
Damn you got me in a rabbit hole for a case! Only on ebay I can find em but takes forever to ship
So a parts watch is needed for a normal length button before changing the battery, then you can have a normal functioning watch. (If only casio had thought of this before and manufactured it with 4 full length buttons!)
EDIT btw I love how there is never a picture of the other side the watch with the short button. They say cheese and this watch always shows its "good side".
