Ten cents a piece has been the defacto average for Lego for a while. So 144 pieces at 8 bucks is just under 6 cents a piece.

So yeah, it's just you in this case.
When was this set (or similar) less than $8? I remember being a little kid in the late 80's and my mom wouldn't buy me a similar sized lego set for $6. I freaked inside that Woolworths to the point those employees still might have PTSD

Honestly $2 more is probably half price considering inflation since then.

yes, corporations have to show growth every year for their investors, since people are buying less they have to fake the growth by increasing margins.
