I've been using one for about 3 years. Last week the base split where the gas lift sits (probably what happened to you as well). I called them and now a new base, gas lift and chair base (everything between the wheels and seat) is on its way to me. After 3 years of daily use I think that's incredible for a $100-150 chair.
I wouldn't compare it to Herman Miller, or even something like a Quantum 9000, but I think it's the best you can get unless you spend around $300 or find a hell of a deal. Keep in mind Dexley is designed for big/tall people. Hyken is the same chair but smaller.
What a great well-built chair.
You will have no regrets - solid well built chair. Box looked mint - no damage to contents inside.
Its no "Herman Miller" --- but definitely close... maybe a Sherman Schiller?

I'm 6'3" and it's good for me, but I do set the lumbar and head rest at their highest positions. The lumbar is fine except it doesn't stay put. I need to find a way to lock it in place. Like somebody else mentioned there are 3D Printable mods to raise the headrest but I haven't tried that.
My main thought is if you are big and fairly heavy it might degrade faster. It has a warranty but at some point it would be annoying to keep repairing it.
That's a good idea but what about seat height then?
Any suggestions for the cushions?
Any suggestions for the cushions?
Notice the cushion tapers off at the front (where your knees would be located). That means it won't dig into your hamstrings. That's the worst when you have a seat cushion that does that. They often look like these: https://www.amazon.com/BlissTrend...0B
The seat cushion style I recommended above I like pairing with an adjustable foot stool too. That ALSO prevents your hamstrings from digging into your cushion and allows you to move your feet around so they don't get restless.
Get a nice little lower back pillow too and you're set. You don't need to spend $1,000 on a Herman Miller chair. I have this Dexley with the above items, and I can be on my computer chair all day without any discomfort. The headrest doesn't get used because the lower back pillow will give you perfect posture. You won't even want to use it. The key also is to have your arm rest on your chair to be parallel with your keyboard so all of your arm's weight goes to the armrest. That will prevent your shoulders/neck from being strained. Then you get a wrist support for your keyboard like this https://www.amazon.com/MEKASS-Key...0C2Z547ZT/ and you have everything you need to be on a computer for hours without any pain.

What about the other staples chair that is on sale now that cost a little bit more? That is better? Has lot more replies.

FYI this is a good gaming chair.

Chinese single back chair is cheaper, but less comfy. (Or just get a Herman Miller)

Don't get this specific chair, because the seat is not mesh. But the chair is a personal thing, so it's best to try it yourself before you buy...
