The only real issue is that it doesn't automatically search for a network after power loss, which apparently a lot of people couldn't figure out?

You just have to hit the wireless connection button once for it to reconnect.
In every room I have a different brand air purifier Smilie I should make a YouTube Smilie
My issue with a refurb is my older (4 or 5 year old running constantly) model has developed a high pitched coil whine. I feel like I'd rather get a new one next time it hits Costco for $99

Agreed. The smart shit is annoying. Hardly use it
Prefer old school remote like the older model

I bought two from the previous post. No complaints so far. Considering how much they charge for replacement filters, I still think they're overpriced.

Didn't take mine that long. Within a couple years the thing is louder than frick. It doesn't bother anyone else. It drives me nuts. Our other two units, one return, one new, are still quiet. I tried pulling the thing apart and lubing some stuff, but it's deep inside the motor and I can't fix it.

I like filters that last 1 year or that can be cleaned and reused. Filters here say 6 mo to 1 year and 3 month use on the carbon filter.

I don't think HEPA filters can be washed without ruining them or at least dramatically decreasing their effectiveness.

You can try using an electric blower [metrovac.com] or air compressor to clean them though. That was my plan originally but since third party HEPA filters are cheap on Amazon I never bothered doing this and just buy replacements every year.

IMO refurbished Winix C545s are the best bargain currently for air purifiers; you would be hard pressed to find so many features at this price point. The air quality sensor and WIFI options are especially useful/good. Wifi enables you to turn the filters on/off and adjust speed etc. from your smartphone. You can even use the Alexa skill [amazon.com] to control them via voice; I haven't bothered trying this feature out for myself though...

So I can control the air quality of my house when I'm not home? Maybe freshen up the air while on holiday or before coming home from work? Is it really that difficult to understand?

why would you care what the air quality is when you aren't there to breathe it? Wasting power you pay for when you aren't even there? It is really THAT difficult to understand? LOLZ shake head

That's for a 535. They aren't the same. My understanding is there is no repair for a 545.

I have used one in one of our rooms since Jul '21, bought via one of those $129.99 Costco deals. Works really well, no complaints. I don't think it can move as much air as our larger more powerful units like Bluair but still solid for the price. I only forget to change the charcoal filter every few months. For ~$60 worth trying a refurb. Thanks OP

$129 is not a deal price, $99 is.

You are right. I pulled up the receipt, it was actually 129.99 minus $30 coupon. It was good because usually those Costco deals come with extra filters.

1 of the 2 I purchased came with a Wi-Fi that couldn't connect at ALL. Had to send it back to be re-refurbished. Be sure to save your box/packing until you know its all working. Otherwise works great has lots of nice features. Love the auto setting, "sleep mode" etc
