Looks like the 256GB spec only exists to allow them say that the surface laptop starts under $1000. Just absurd that they are charging $200 to go from 256GB to 512GB. I know Apple does that, but copying Apple's money grabbing tactics isn't a great way to sell the new and unproven Snapdragon Surface laptops.
So now the MODS are posting deals at retail and calling them slick? These are all available directly from Microsoft for 10% off for preorder. This post needs to be deleted.

MS has been copying the dirtiest monopolist that's apple in this respect for years now sadly.
One thing to note is that unlike the evil apple, MS allows you to open the device and upgrade the SSD at home. You can buy a fast, reliable 1TB SSD for $100, and swap it out at home.

I preordered the OLED Snapdragon X Elite 16GB/512GB Blue Sapphire version at Microsoft for $1349. So excited!

Calm down, Francis. It's just an ad.
I can't imagine why anyone would *want* all of their windows applications running on a software interpreter layer, but - hey - it's their money. And I suppose it'll work just fine for kids in business college, or my grandma.

Oh okay now I see it
Where / how are you seeing this? On the Microsoft website I only see discounts on old versions of the Surface, not the new one.
