Much of the low end frequency spectrum is felt due to room pressurization not due to hearing it. That is why some subs go below hearing range. it is quite noticable when your sub is not able to go that low and you are missing thatsignal information.

This thing gets so low I almost regret getting it. It's not in a room fully treated for it, so when it gets going, things in the room rattle, so many rattles, so I turn it down, but then the audible and barely subsonic frequencies aren't as strong as I'd like. I could eq it, but then I'd feel like I was wasting money by no utilizing its potential.

Does this sub come with a Bluetooth adapter so I can connect to it via BT?

Practically speaking how big of a difference are these from the 14"s. I'd prefer the 14"s just for their size and price since I plan to go dual. If I got these I'd still go dual but seems pretty excessive at that point.

Edit: people seem to reporting issues with the gain and chuffing on the 14s. still leads me to question if dual 16s are excessive.

I opted for dual 14s mainly because of the smaller size and negligible performance difference. The 16s are a little louder below 18hz, the 14s are a little louder 18 to around 55hz. If I work I can get it to chuff with low single-frequency tests at high volume. I haven't noticed it during regular use. I'd venture that this is probably true of most subwoofers.

The reference premier subs have a 5 year warranty for everything.

so klipsch has a longer electronics warranty but HSU has a longer driver warranty. so not a clear advantage for either brand.

Klipsch offering a 5-year warranty on the amp is clearly the much better advantage vs. the 2-year HSU electronics warranty.

i disagree. replacing a plate amp is not expensive and is very easy (Generally just a few screws and wire connections). replacing a driver (Depending on brand / size / etc.) could be more expensive and is definitely a harder job.

To be fair, replacing a driver is also just a few screws and wire connections. Neither one is that hard.

Crazy good deal for this caliber of subwoofer. Klipsch subs have been known to be terrible but this new line has been reviewed very well for its price range. At this deal, it's a no brainer.

I have not but I've been running it around 7 to 8 gain. I'll test it out with lower gain and see if it drops off dramatically. Subwoofer performance depends highly on placement as well which could have something to do with this particular issue.

The rp model is where the Amp issue is resolved? Is this comparable to the svs pb4000?
