it's expired now, but it's common for ego tools to go on sale in that range, battery included.
The tool+battery deals include a charger, and are often close to the price of just the battery.
I have 5 ego batteries from a weed eater, self-propelled mower, backpack blower, the high-CFM handheld blower, and the original blower that failed on me in the winter (they had a design flaw that caused static electricity to build up and damage the motor control circuit...Ego ignored my warranty claim, didn't even call or email me back....not thrilled about that).
I've had most of the equipment, except the high-CFM blower, for over 5 years now, and all of the batteries still work. I've had 1 charger quit working, but I have 4 more, including a fast charger.
I think I paid ~$230 for the backpack blower w/5.0Ah battery (open box) @ HD like 3 years ago.
Other than the static issue on the v1 handheld blower, all of it has held up. The leaf blowers get a ton of use in the fall, ~1.5 acres of maples, oaks, and hickory trees...it's literally 3 weekends of leaf blowing, lawn sweeping, and burning of leaves.

The newer batteries have fancier electronics that might improve battery efficiency, and show you a more detailed view of the overall charge level, etc., but they all fit and work.
The only real exception to that is some equipment may not handle a grossly smaller or larger capacity battery, either for practical purposes, or due to limited space. E.g., a 7.5Ah battery would fit on a handheld leaf blower, but would make it extremely heavy so nobody is realistically gonna do that. Likewise, the 2Ah that's commonly included with the string trimmer and handheld leaf blowers would be a poor choice for the lawnmower, you will get maybe 5-10 mins mowing time max (and it may overheat or not be able to produce the same peak current as a larger pack).

Buying stuff like this on Amazon (basically eBay BIN) is sketchy as hell.

Product failed before end of Ego warranty period.

Style: 5.0 Ah Battery
Bought new on Amazon. Product failed before end of Ego warranty period. Ego said because seller was not authorized under their policy they would not replace battery. Amazon should make it clear what are authorized sellers on their site and Ego as well. Willl take my business elsewhere . I believe this is a misrepresentation of the warranty policy as this information is not readily available upon purchase but is nested in multiple layers of fine print. Not a happy Ego customer.

Ego did replace one battery after several conversations with support (I was like 2 weeks outside the warranty window). The other battery failed at around 14 months and they told me I was out of luck.
Batteries are stored inside year round. And I rotate pretty heavily (have a total of 6 batteries - 3 of which are 5 or 7.5).
Love the tools but have had less than a stellar experience with batteries. Considering their cost I expect them to last for many years. $400 worth of failed batteries hurts.
