I tried using it to cut part of my child's car seat off since they've outgrown it, but I couldn't get it to work. The blade itself cut the belt instantly. Still nice to have in an emergency and the orange is really visible in case stuff gets jumbled around in the center console. Haven't tried the glass breaker since I don't have anything to test it on.

I tried using it to cut part of my child's car seat off since they've outgrown it, but I couldn't get it to work. The blade itself cut the belt instantly. Better knives certainly seemed to perform better in most cases as you'd expect, but was interesting to see that some worked just fine "this way" but not at all "that way"
Would be curious to know if this improves your outcome on your retired carseat.
