Been waiting for this to go down in price, it's been hovering over $100 for a while now. Haven't seen it this low in a bit. Not sure if it will go higher or lower as the year goes on but if you can live with this price then this deal's for you.

1/4 drive impact sockets are kind of silly if I'm being honest….

According to the camel, this 1/4" set hasn't been this low for over a year or two. Surprised this deal has gotten negative attention. Although I do understand that it's silly that the 1/4" set has been more than the 3/8" set for a long while now.

1/4" impact sockets are a real head scratcher

To me, not only are 1/4" impact sockts a real head scratcher, but so are 3/8" I mean, what's the use case here? A moderate sized fastener which is fairly tight, but in a real confined area, but which you can still get an impact in?

If there's space for a 1/2", just use that. And frankly, on the one case where I really need a 3/8" impact, I'll just use a regular socket (albeit seems unlikely since I wouldn't have a 3/8" impact wrench). Yeah, yeah I know, but let's be honest, we've all done it!

Cordless impacts have kinda created a whole market for 3/8s. You could do 95% or more of car and light truck impact work with a 3/8s Milwaukee, dewalt, etc these days.

1/4 impacts are great for small stuff in tight spaces, like under the hood, or tearing down a motorcycle engine. I don't understand the tiny sizes in this set. Where would you need to zip off a 4mm? 8, 10, 12mm sure, but 4 or 4.5mm?

Wish they offered a less complete set for a lower price. Don't really need all those micro sizes and don't really need the biggest sizes in 1/4 drive.

I have their 3/8 socket impact set. It's great. Sizes are clear and easy to read. Unlike some of my other impacts that are all black. As for the question regarding why not just go 1/2" sockets, its due to size. I have an M12 Stubby 3/8 impact that can pretty much rip the nut off just about anything on my truck. The only reason I've had to pull out my M18 full power impact is on a wheel bearing job where there was considerable corrosion and my catalytic converter replacement.

Idk, I think this set is good for a home owner who already has 1/4" wrenches and wants to splurge and get a tougher socket set. I'm not sure it's for mechanics who work on their cars every weekend - unless it's body work and want a tough but small set to get in tighter spaces.
