Does anybody know if the Netflix credit is locked to the account that purchased the PSVR2? I have been waiting for a decent sale on PSVR2 for a while, but I have no need for Netflix. Father's day is coming up, though. My dad does use Netflix and has a ps5. I figure if I can just give it to him, that takes care of my need for a deal and a solid gift in one go.

I don't think anyone has received the codes yet.

There's a rumored Ps5 pro on the horizon. This model will most likely get a price drop and a refresh.

yes. it's applied as a credit to your Netflix account so if you have standard it will cover the next 17 months
I'm going to say no, not true.
Back when companies used to give Netflix gift cards you could choose a plan. And the validity could vary by plan type.
With this new "monthly credit" system you only get the plan and associated credit. You can't carry over Sony, T-Mobile or Verizon supplied credit to future months. This also means that if you stop paying your tmobile bill, the netflix credits stop. So Sony could implement something like that incase of returns.

Not locked.
You can give that activation email to anyone, and it'll apply to that Netflix account. Doesn't matter if it's the same Sony email with Netflix or not.
That's how T-Mobile and Verizon do these.

crazy how many PS5 consoles sold Sony sold yet there still cheap asses. $50 price drop 4 years later is terribe. I suggest folks wait for the PS5 pro.
Normally you'd expect a $100 price drop 3 years later but consider how PS5s were impossible to get and constantly sold out during most of that time period, Sony could have raised prices like we saw with video cards but they didn't so scalpers had steady business reselling PS5s for more rather than Sony.

I think the lesson here if you own a Sony console is to just sell your old console and buy the new console at launch given how consoles hold value, it was a no brainer for me to do that with PS5 at launch given it was backwards compatible. Selling my PS4 and a couple games covered half the cost of it. Assuming a 7 year lifespan for PS5 until PS6, it's really a bargain to buy it at launch as you'll own the latest gen the full 7 years. I'll repeat this process for PS6 assuming it's BC.

Hopefully. The initial guidance was 24-48 hours after ordering. Anyway I did a chat and they told me to check back on June 3.

Still a bit irksome to take as long as it is.

No kidding. That doesn't seem very thought out.

Just received my PSVR2. Will stay boxed until I receive the code, which more likely than not will arrive. No code, it is going back and I am never trusting SONY again in a deal.

You guys are freaking out over nothing. It'll come. Sony doesn't back out of promises.

Just got my Netflix code. FWIW, I ordered the PS5 the night the deals went live (28th). Oddly enough, I ordered at 9:31 PM and got the code at 9:31 AM.

I did say "more likely than not it will come". Just recommending that you don't open up your PS5/PSVR2 until it's there. "Trust but verify".
