I got one that was doa. Got an exchange, and it is basically a big toy RC. Imagine one of those crappy RCs from 5 below but huge. It controls poorly when it's not losing signal. I thought the steering actuator was broken and replaced it, it was just not turning every time I turned. It breaks as easy as one of them $5 RCs as well. Also none of the parts are standard so when they break it's just you rigging it together. If you already have Hart batteries and think you'll get $24 enjoyment out of it, go for it. But my advice is to just wait for the scy16101 to go on sale on AliExpress and buy that for a few bucks more.(It's sold under a bunch of names)

Fixing this Hart RC all the time made me realize I may as well get one with more standard parts and grabbed the brushless of the scy one and have loved it so much I bought a second.

Solder iron, 6 inch buffer, and hand vacuum are also $24.

Your can also get them slightly cheaper on the hart tools website for like $21, but shipping isn't free till $100. Didn't charge taxes

There's a high and low switch on the controller, but it's BIG. I couldn't see using it in the house.
So the throttle is just on/off it sounds like? Bummer.

I actually don't remember. I can check after work. I'm pretty sure the steering is all the way left or right not variable.

Buy the $2 2 year allstate warranty that comes with it. When it breaks file a claim, you paid $2 for some fun and get the $25 back.

No you misunderstand. The throttle is analog / continuous. I believe they meant there is a switch on the remote to turn it on "fast mode" and "slow mode"

Thank you for the post. What's a good sale price for the SCY to look out for?

I bought one when it was $49 last December and its fun enough for the price. For $24 definitely worth it. It is somewhat hard to control but in slow-mode its still plenty quick and easier to control. In fast mode it spins out way too easily unless you are driving it on rougher terrain. It is NOT 4wd just rwd and has an open diff so it can get stuck in some situations. It is quite durable and you can slam it into all kinds of stuff without breaking anything important.

This is identical to the Ryobi Uproar one except it is the "Version 2" of that truck model which is improved in a few ways including a gopro mount and improved pairing/antenna reception. In the previous thread for the $49 deal last year someone mentioned this is manufactured by a different company entirely but I don't remember who.

Another thing worth mentioning it is VERY large, much bigger than you might expect. When I received mine I was like "holy crap" cuz I wanted to drive it around in my house and while i still could i had to do it very carefully.

We have enjoyed our unit. It gets up to a decent speed and my kids enjoy running it around. It does get hot after prolonged use.
