Does this get linked with your Microsoft account so you can reinstall it in the future?

Never bought from these sellers but it doesn't state it's linked to your account. The copy I bought years ago did allow me to link it.

The program will still work after EOL. It just means that updates and support will end. I was using Office 2003 until recently when I switched to 2021. 2003 still works just fine.
I can beat that! I still have Office 2001.

Reviews say that you need to download the software package from the seller's site and Microsoft's. Can anyone confirm if this is the case?

Right... So if some "Volunteer Moderator" says so, it must be true.

https://www.techradar.com/news/wh...are-piracy

Essentially Microsoft shifting to subscription model and wanting to be better marketed. One more Office 2021 user (even if pirating software) is one less G Suite user.

What are the risks? Could the code suddenly stop working
Totally possible but the likelihood very slim

I got burned by Groupon on a similar deal. The code I bought had to be activated within 30 days. It took my wife at least 2 months to get her computer to me and by then it wouldn't work. I'm just sharing my experience you might get screwed over

Sorry, mine logged in with my Google acct. Another user explained the gist of it.

Also:
"Microsoft has realized that if it takes too hard of a stance on piracy, it will face too much backlash, so for now, it looks like Microsoft has ceased its war against the software pirates."

"Companies like Adobe have also allowed piracy to continue, and like Microsoft, this illegal activity has cemented both companies as leaders in their space. Even Bill Gates acknowledged that piracy actually helped Microsoft expand into China."

Same limitation on the one I bought a few years ago from another company, valid for 30 days. I installed immediately so I had no issues with it. It's good you brought this up!
