I have this, and it's been crazy reliable for a year and a half. Cleaned it about 3 times since then. Probably should do it more often, but no issues whatsoever. (Used about 3 times a day). Also I don't see any reasons whatsoever to go for more expensive models. Additional features are at best "nice to have"
I have both in two different homes. Both have lived for more than 3 years by now. Phillips is more watered down in general even at highest concentration but much more consistent coffee and much easier to clean and there is no brew mechanism to remove and wash. Just a tablet every so often and you are done. Delonghi has a better espresso cup (large coffee is probably same and personal flavor) but when making coffee you are limited with one cup at a time and you have to push a button again to fill a mug while the Phillips allows 2 cups together. Minor things but life changing when you have both.
In short I prefer the ease of the Phillips menus and ease to clean but the texture of the delonghi espresso (not the large coffee).
Love mine. Going on 3 years I think. I did the math out and it pays for itself vs a $150 Keurig in like a year. Plus you get better coffee in the process. Cleaning is very simple. I rinse the brew unit over 1-2 weeks in the sink and leave it out overnight to dry. Did the descale once and almost no scale (great municipal tap water plus a high quality filter at my sink). I'm guessing we have run 2,500 drinks through this since I usually do a latte plus a coffee just to fill up my mug.
I also have a breville barista pro which I never use - better espresso but I don't have the time with 3 kids plus I make my wife a drink each morning is so much easier pressing a few buttons

You really should take 1 minute per week to clean.

Pop out the brew group, rinse, and let the machine dry. If it never dries in there and grounds build up, you get mold.
yeah for real. he basically turned his machine into a cheap jura

Apart from LatteGo can someone with experience compare this with good old Delonghi Magnifica. Mine is on the last legs and looking for a possible replacement
I found a good review on YouTube comparing the two. The Philips has a milk frother that is easier to clean but foam isn't as good. Magnifica has an extra year of warranty.

Might pick one up! Do you guys recommend getting the Asurion insurance coverage for it?
Already comes with 2 year manufacturer warranty so seems like a lot of money for an additional year.

Well, Crate & Barrel cancelled my order. And I used my discover card points to but a stupid gift card there to use on this, which I'm now stuck with. Fun...

Amazon Warehouse has used acceptable ones for $350. I'd bet dollars to donuts at least a few will be unused returns. I took the gamble and can report back on Thursday.

Well, mine arrived in what appeared to be unused condition but repackaged. All original accessories were unused and shipping tape/display stickers were still in the unit. I was super excited until I filled the tank and water began to immediately, literally, pour out of the bottom of the unit. Unfortunately, it took about 20-30 ounces before I realized what was happening. It is possible that there was some shipping damage or that this was a refurb or broken unit returned to Amazon as a switcheroo.

That's a bummer. I have a warehouse one with the americano LatteGo option instead of iced coffee that I got for $270.00 coming tomorrow. I hope I don't run into the same issue. There are a few more for $270 out there if you want to save a few more bucks.

I have both, this machine and a Breville automatic. Time savings when making an espresso are minimal, it's mostly milk-based drinks that take longer to make with an automatic.
You have to hands on with Breville, not to mention you have to clean up after. When you need to make drinks for 10 people, hopefully you like repeating the process. Meanwhile, I spend time with my friends after I pressed a button on my Philips 3200 and only clean up the coffee puck bin after 5 drinks. It's not about how long it takes to make the drink, it's how hands on you need to be hence the time you spend on it.

Looking for advice. I ordered this from Crate and Barrel and they send me the 4300 model instead. Seems nicer, I have no problem with that. My concern is (1) warranty; (2) credit card warranty. I cant imagine its great for the company to take the machine back since its open and in my kitchen, but I would want some sort of receipt.

Any advice would be helpful.

You got the warranty through Philips despite it being "used"? And how 5 years? This has been the only reason I haven't jumped on the warehouse deals I've been eying for months
