Original roll has 60 sheets and clearly thicker as the center tube is much smaller compared to the recently purchased on the right. The sheet count and coverage area numbers are deceiving to trick you in thinking i'ts only 9% less. compared to the actual amount of material thickness of the original roll, it's about 50% as i've stated.
it sure don't look like 9% less to me.
I'm moving away from these because they're just more expensive and are less good for working on bicycles than their kitchen towels.

The area decreased by 18%, so we'd expect the weight to decrease by about 18% as well. It's not perfect because you're also weighing the cardboard roll and the plastic, but it should be close enough to get an idea.

Can we just simplify it and cut some 50mm squares out of both and weigh them?
