1) On course usability: Arccos picks up your shots automatically. Golf Pad tags uses NFC and requires you to scan your tag after each shot. I've hit shots and then forgotten to scan my tag (especially when you're frustrated). Arccos isn't perfect and doesn't pickup EVERYTHING but it's pretty good. Arccos wins in that regard.
2) Price: Both services require an annual subscription. Arccos costs $159 a year. GolfPad tags cost $30 a year. GolfPad tags wins on price.
Both apps do a good job of visually displaying your round and showing you stats. One perk for GolfPad has is that you can share a REAL TIME link with your buddies while you're playing. They can see a shot by shot review from a birds eye view (think google maps) and follow along with your round. Arccos has the birds eye shot review too but it's not real time. You can only review it after the round is over.
They both have accompanying apple watch apps so you can see gps distances to the pin and distance of your last shot without pulling out your phone. The main drawback for Arccos is that it detects an extra "shot" whenever i fling my club into a tree after a shank.
Overall, Arccos wins for me just for the ease of use but GolfPad is a good option. Either way, you should definitely use at least one of them to improve your game.
