I've seen many people try to fit in 9 holes before work in the morning. I've seen average early tee-time players complete a hole around 7-8 minutes, which would be around 2-to-2.5 hours to complete. There are even guys who go out there running with their push cart for morning workout that finish in 1-to-1.5 hours. When your tee-time is so early that they haven't even clean the dew on the green, you don't really need to spend too much time putting.
Because of PCC, most of us members basically play every day and have low handicap. Therefore, there's no lose ball issue. If you're not picky with which ball you play like me, most of the time, I finish 18 with more balls than I start with. Just pick up balls along the way. Many of us even donate our balls we find back to the Public Course, which they give to Junior Golfers or sell them at the counter to make extra money for the staffs.
But yeah, you have many different choices these day where you can two or even four wheels scooter for less. But then we office worker or older people buy these things for the exercise and scooter defeat that purpose. That stress on your back from carrying the bag isn't too good. I mostly use this to play early in the morning because I sometime play 36 holes and usually carry a different/lighter bag for the 2nd or evening round.
I play multiple days a week and am coming off a 5th back surgery. Carrying is a non-option for me. But my electric push cart allows me to walk again and enjoy the game at a much better pace. <I can easily keep up with a two-sum in a cart> . I feel better not having to crawl into and out of cart and bouncing all over the place. I can stay loose walking.
My CC has "Hills" in it's title for a reason so I have a cart with a wider wheel base and 5th wheel for hills.
You'll save money on Cart rental. For me I was ahead in my first season.
Just make sure the first time you use it isn't a tournament. Takes some thought at first. But after 2 1/2 years its just part of the routine. The follow feature on some models is over rated if you ask me.

Is it "worth" the extra money for it, well that's your call for sure but I absolutely love the follow mode. I don't use it 100% of the time as there are times it makes more sense to keep the cart in front of me with me manually steering it instead of remote, and I use the remote very frequently to direct it around greens or if I'm walking ahead for yardage or something. Overall the majority of the usefulness of a motorized cart is accomplished with something like this MGI, but I'd spend the extra money all over again to keep the follow mode, it's literally the best round of golf next to having a caddy.
At $1200 it seems kind of pricy???
