In case you have a small balance remaining, I just found out the minimum amount to reload Amazon gift cards have been raised to $5.00 (previously $1).

These are very hard to liquidate unless you plan to convert to something like Amazon or Walmart giftcards. I'm still trying to spend $300 because so many retailers reject them. They can't be added to PayPal or Google Pay to use in-store. Some utilities may accept them, but it's a lot of work to spend.

Please be aware that if you plan to use these virtual Visa cards to buy Walmart gift cards, you can only use them to buy physical gift cards to be delivered to your home. You cannot use them to buy Walmart eGift cards.

Not so long ago, Walmart switched its delivery company from FedEx to a no-name company. Unfortunately I was not aware of that until it was too late as I never had any issue with physical gift cards delivered by FedEx nor had anything stolen from my door (I work from home).

Last week, I ordered a physical gift card from walmart.com. This new delivery company stole my gift card from the envelope in Tennessee during a 3-hour stop shown on the tracking information. When the empty envelope was delivered to my door in Texas, I immediately reported the stolen card to walmart.com. I was promised to receive the replacement card but nothing was sent after 3 days. When I called again, I learned that Walmart did not deactivate the gift card I reported stolen and still let the thief use it at a store in Tennessee 3 hours after I reported it stolen. Now they have refused to send replacement card claiming that the card has been used after delivery. I have made 5 calls to walmart.com including their managers and their gift card department, they still refused to replace the stolen gift card.

This appears to be an inside job and an organized crime most likely involving walmart.com and delivery company as a team because the thief knew to use the gift card only after the status was marked as delivered and walmart.com purposely did not deactivate the gift card after I reported it as stolen. I am trying very hard to fight this organized crime as one person against the entire organization. Any suggestion and help would be greatly appreciated.

Please do not order anything from walmart.com.

Did any of you get your 1% cashback from shopping portal from the same deal last month? I did not get any cashback from 2 shopping portals last month. One of them showed nothing and I had to open a support ticket and it is still waiting to hear from the merchant. The other one simply said 'ineligible'. And I remember reading another member mentioned that a 3rd shopping portal said 'ineligible'. It seems that giftcards.com is not paying the shopping portal any commission when a coupon is used starting from last month. I could be wrong - that is why I am asking.

Trying to save money so we can pay it in absurd taxes and Healthcare.
Let me know when you guys have a trick how to save on $1000/month health insurance premiums. Then I'll thumb it up, not trying to daisy chain cards and PayPal and god knows where money will go if I return something and save $4..
Lets all look at big picture. Sure it's nice to save as much as we can but let's not kill ourselves to keep track of all this and "pay student loans"? Which college was that? It's like buying pizza with pennies to pay student loan with 100 gift cards...

"Unreal!!!
I spent in excess of 1 hour and a half of my life trying to make a VISA gift card purchase on your site with promotion "SUPERDAD10" and then talking to your representative very upset with what you have done:
First, you were declining all my purchases no matter what: I tried to use different cards, PayPal, etc.
Even though my bank said it is ok to make a purchase on your site and they will not reject you still declined!!!
But worst of all when I continued my attempts to purchase you said that the promotion SUPERDAD10 WAS ALREADY REDEEMED BY ME!
HOW?!!!
YOU CANCELLED ALL MY ORDERS!
IT WAS NOT REDEEMED!
I created a new account trying to make a purchase there and you still were saying it was REDEEMED!
NO IT WAS'T !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Same thing happened to me at Walmart, physical gift card shipped by FedEx, although this one never showed delivered. It was a $500 gift card and Walmart refused to do anything about it. I had to open a claim with my credit card company. I doubt a pre-paid card has these protections.

With Costco, I find that I can order a $100 shop card emailed, as soon as it shows up, order another one. After that they cancel any more orders, not sure if this is a coincidence or some sort or limit. I've done this several times but usually months apart.

Agreed! Please keep in mind that your money in the bank (at least mine) is earning 5%+ interest. I have 6 of these $100 Virtual Visa cards sitting there from last month earning 0% interest.

In my situation, my utility company charges $3 flat fee for every credit card payment. I can use my Chase credit card to pay for my internet bill with 5% cashback. My health insurance only takes bank ACH. My home+car insurance does not split payment into multiple credit cards. My Amazon gift cards are usually purchased with 10% discount when AMEX or Chase does promotion at Bestbuy or Lowes. All my membership payments reject virtual credit cards. I used it to buy Walmart gift card (only physical card is allowed), and delivery company stole it but Walmart did not deactivate the stolen card and refused to replace it even I reported it stolen before the stolen card was used. Talked to my credit card bank to dispute the charge and was told there is no guarantee because gift card purchase was not covered.

I am not in anyway to discount this deal. I actually upvoted it. I just need to be mindful and evaluate it if it is right for me.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I talked to the prepaid credit card bank, they said they can try dispute but there is no guarantee because gift cards are not covered.

The new delivery company is called OnTrac. They don't even have a phone number that you can talk to a human. If you have a choice, stay away from OnTrac. This is the first time I have seen a delivery company steals contents from customer packages in such an obvious way and Walmart is fully protecting them!

Walmart still refused to replace the stolen card even they admitted their internal communication error was the reason why the stolen card was not deactivated after I reported it stolen and even they confirmed that the stolen card was used in a store 900 miles away from where it was delivered. As long as the stolen card was used, no replacement will be made. I felt like I was talking to police in a communist state.

So many stories of stolen cards sent by mail. All cards need to be activated by the end user in the end-user's online account upon receipt. And not based on the status "delivered" (but into a FedEx contractor driver's pocket actually)

Only a few sites that I saw had that particular coupon code as an accepted one to use when shopping thru their site

Ooohhh! I didn't think about the AMEX online retail 3%cb. You confirmed that Amex actually counted this for you in the 3% online retail category?

I tried my AMEX BlueCash 3% online, probably a year or 2 ago and it was coded as %1. Is it different now, do you see the 3%?

Look into the US Bank credit card. It has two selectable 5% cash back every quarter, one of them is Utilities and another is cellular services. AT&T actually registers as utilities, so I get one category for the price of two. I have the old Citi Dividend and Chase Freedom, plus Discover. So I get to select two categories not covered by those 3 mentioned cards. The 5% cash back is up to $2000 spend instead of the $1500 from Chase and Discover. What I do to offset the $3 charge is to prepay a large amount. If I prepaid $1000, I'm earning $50, so $3 is inconsequential.

There are reports of physical Visa/MC purchased from Staples deal that get stolen. One way to prevent that is to register the card and add in the zip code. That way there is an extra security measure to prevent hackers from automated brute force. I never understood how hackers could get CVV and expiration date correct.

With these virtual cards, it's even better. There is no way in hell hackers can activate the card by guessing the email address. So I don't activate them until hours before I need to use them, and I empty the card in 2-3 days.

I have no problem use more than $1200 in less than 6 months. Water, natural gas, electricity, AT&T fiber internet, Farmer's car/home insurance. It's not for shopping in-store or online. You want companies that allow you to specify payment amount to work the best. Like I can pay $50 for water, then pay $50 for natural gas.

You are talking about credit cards that require activation. The issue is with pre-activated gift cards. How to get congress to pass a law to ban all retailers from shipping pre-activated gift cards? The Costco physical gift cards I bought previously were non-activated. I had to call to activate each Costco gift card after receiving it. That is what all retailers should do.
