Seller includes an adapter in case you run into this issue. I bought the 12tb model from them, and it's currently in my NAS now.

FWIW, The model WUH721414ALE604 has power disable pin 3 support, which may not play nicely with NAS servers. There are ways around it, google "hack on the SATA connector pin #3"

E604 = 512e SATA 6Gb/s + Power disable pin 3 support + no encryption

Newegg will go out of their way to protect and enable shady/shitty sellers, and their support is terrible. Though this particular seller is fine, I'd try to find their listings somewhere else rather than support Newegg in any way.

Drives from servers located in a datacenter run much cooler than anything I have at home, including my 4u array servers with quieter fans. Very unlikely to have been frying. Even higher in hotswap bays in a tower case that doesn't 't have forced-air cooling for those bays. I know which environment I'd rather trust.
Yea when using a dual usb dock I just use an old 120mm fan powered via usb with 5->12v boost adapters sold on Ali. Set on top blowing down with foam or silicone bumper spacer, usb is weak so the fan is slower and it works out.

I bought two "Seagate Exos X20 16TB SATA HDD ST16000NM000D" for my NAS from same provider. Both of them didn't spin. I believe it is the same SATA POWER DISABLE feature. I tried the hack (disable PIN 3 with special tape) but never work. So I have to return them.

If you buy the drive for NAS, think again before buying it.

Striped RAID (RAID 0) is the last thing you'd want. It has no redundancy and any drive failing takes out the whole array. You either want Mirrored RAID (RAID 1) or some form with parity.

No one knows. Don't believe anyone claiming to. Hard drives can die at any time. It could fail after one hour or it could last decades.

Except the smart data comes back as saying they've never been above 40C, absolutely frying. And no, they didn't clear the smart data on the drives I got.
