Seller includes an adapter in case you run into this issue. I bought the 12tb model from them, and it's currently in my NAS now.

FWIW, The model WUH721414ALE604 has power disable pin 3 support, which may not play nicely with NAS servers. There are ways around it, google "hack on the SATA connector pin #3"

E604 = 512e SATA 6Gb/s + Power disable pin 3 support + no encryption

Newegg will go out of their way to protect and enable shady/shitty sellers, and their support is terrible. Though this particular seller is fine, I'd try to find their listings somewhere else rather than support Newegg in any way.

Those other market places also have scammers, so I'm not sure what you are talking about, goharddrive and serverpartsdeals also sell on ebay and amazon, and everyone knows, so do scammers.
Those other marketplaces don't bend over backwards to enable and protect scammers nearly in the same ways that Newegg does.

Will this work in a two bay synology nas? I think my drives slide in and lock into a back plane connector. No wires. So sounds like these drives will not work in that style of Synology nas?
Don't know about Synology, but I have a couple in my Terramaster. NAS units typically don't have issues with PWDIS. It's usually PC PSUs that don't support SATA 3.3.

Is this the correct link? It brings me to a page not found every time.

Can you explain to me why the Allstate one is better? I ask because I see it already has a 5 year warranty.
Just additional third party coverage from a known and proven entity.

I bought two "Seagate Exos X20 16TB SATA HDD ST16000NM000D" for my NAS from same provider. Both of them didn't spin. I believe it is the same SATA POWER DISABLE feature. I tried the hack (disable PIN 3 with special tape) but never work. So I have to return them.

If you buy the drive for NAS, think again before buying it.
What model NAS do you have? I have a synology 4 bay and am thinking of picking up 4 of these but need to make sure it won't give me issues.

I just can't get over the "refurbished" part. That's the only thing I refuse to buy refurbished. Have you guys had good experience buying refurbished drives?

I have 4 EXOS manufacturer cert. drives from SPD, and all running well for the past 1.5 years (2yr warranty). I'll give this WD HC530 a go and see how it performs. 5 yr warranty is what sold me (and price).

They are enterprise drives and thus hardier than consumer drives. If you can stand the noise they make, they should last for a long time if you take care of them. Plus, you get a good year warranty from the seller. By all accounts, they are quick to help if there's any issues.

So these drives come with an adapter because of the 3.3v issue I can't see the difference in pins vs the cable form the PSU. what's removed/modified in the cable to fix the issue?

Yea I think cheap docks don't bother with the 3.3v at all.
