You don't need to go to the gym anymore if you carry this laptop around with you.
You will hit all: shoulders, biceps & triceps, legs....
I have one G15 and it is heavy but works like a horse as desktop replacement.

I was planning on holding out for a 4080/4090 config but this looks like a great deal at 1/2 the cost. Anyone have a beat on how difficult is it and ~ cost to upgrade the mem to 32GB? That's the only thing that's keeping me from pulling the trigger I think...

It looks like it's a pretty good spec consider it's 24 core CPU. Sounds insane for this price, but I don't follow techs for a while so not sure if this is a deal.
The cheap 4070 laptop last yr was the Asus tuf for 999 but this one has way better CPU, screen, faster ram, bigger HD. Definitely worth it. I'm gonna hold out and see if prices drop further since we have so many PCs at home already but it's a good deal

Good info, yeah, I do wanna wait a little more, but it still seems to be good if I search around for $1300-1400 laptop and they're all have worst specs especially the CPU. I have never even heard of a 24 cores CPU that's insane. The most I've heard last was 16 so for a $1100 laptop that's crazy to me. still gaming on a 4 cores with a 6800xt that feels sufficient to me.

Super easy to upgrade RAM in this model.

As for prices, well, have you heard of a website called Slickdeals?

Yeah, I'm sure it's a superb system, the thing is I'm looking for something under $1k. This is around $1250 after everything little over budget. I found the Asus Tuf F15 4070 i7 for $930 after tax open box but 1.5hr away pick up... Dang.. I probably wait a little if this drops further I'll pull the trigger.

I am waiting for an Acer with the same cpu but with a 4080 and 16gigs ram/1tb sdd. Total after tax was 1605. I'd say you are getting a deal for this since while the difference between deals for the gpu is 400. That 400 is justified since the 4080 is a big jump from the 4070.
In my case I went for the 4080 and still would because I have a laptop with a 4060 I need to get repaired and a 3060 laptop I've been using as a backup. A 4070 even With the i9 13700hx wouldn't have been enough to entice me to get a Third fking laptop (@.@).
Objectively I'd do this deal in a heartbeat if I didn't have the current situation I have right now

Edit: Forgot to mention the Acer is REFURBISHED so that's a big difference I missed initially

- 'deal' refers to the 1070 plus tax. Not 1300 plus tax

If you get a Dell G15, those have numeric keypads. The 16" screen of a G16 is taller, but slightly narrower apparently.

There was this Acer Predator Ebay recertified deal earlier this week, which I'm on the fence about. It $1,455 after added to card so it's a bit more expensive, but you're getting the 4080 and 32gb memory.

Any experience with Acer recertified or thoughts on the deal would be greatly appreciated. TIA
