I gave this car to my son because I have too many for myself and it beats having to buy another car when I can just pass it down.
Also, not all of us have 350-400 dollars to spend on a single RC cars especially folks just getting into the hobby.
This kind of gate keeping and elitist attitude is one of the worst things about this RC community.
Have a good day. I will no longer be engaging in this conversation.
At $99 for a setup like this, it's a steal even at $167.
I'm happy that more people can enjoy this hobby.

The way around that is snipping off whatever comes with this and soldering on a different connector. Pick what can handle 45 amps or more like EC3, XT60, Deans/T or Traxxas.
From experience, that li-ion pack won't have a lot of punch. It'll work for a first pack. The plus is that it's a bit safer than a lipo pack and charging it is simple.
If I didn't have enough RC stuff I'd be tempted.
