All those $20 games magically turn back into $70 games once the sale starts.

It's not the same.
B1G1-50OFF equates to 25% off both games.
B2G1-Free equates to 33% off all three games.
This is assuming all of the games purchased are the same price of course.

I've had this usually stack with Amazon price match (if they haven't already updated the price to match lol), FWIW.
Having target price match Amazon, or having Amazon price match the deal?

When I say Nintendo I mean Nintendo games. What's a third party Nintendo game? That doesn't even make sense.
There are many video game developers out there making games that run on Nintendo hardware. Nintendo makes their own games, which is called first party. Third party means games from developers other than Nintendo. Target sales often exclude Nintendo-published Switch games but sometimes include third-party Switch games.

Target still has the glitch as many of you may know already with the bogo or b2g1 free promos. After placing the order, you can just cancel the 2nd item immediately, and the promo discount still gets prorated across the 1st item.

Flash 4k film is $18 - 4.50 - 5% redcard

Helldivers 2 for $30 seems like a good deal if you order 2 and cancel 1

Well with how they do it splitting the discount across the items in BOGO promotions I believe it is purposely done this way to allow for returning of one (or up to two for B2G1 free) item(s) without having to return them all. Not really a glitch. Plus it's been going on for so long.

I can understand prorating it after all the items are shipped or bought in the store.

Yet, the discount glitch still applies after you cancel one of the two items before it is shipped. If you buy only one item then no promo discount.

Thanks! Found some board games to buy. Not the best prices of all time, but I've been tracking them all year and they haven't gone on sale for even close to that so it was a good deal for now.

This worked out awesome. Picked up two board games at decent prices ($39.99 each for Carcassonne 20th Anniversary Edition and The Quacks of Quedlinburg), less the $10 I earned in Target Rewards from the last B2G1 deal in April. Net $24.99 each plus tax. Thanks for the head's up, PM!

Zelda and Mario are produced by Nintendo, they are first party games. Mortal Kombat would be third party.
Yes I know that. So what the hell is a third party Nintendo game? That's not a thing.

The thing is Nintendo is not just a developer and publisher of games but also a hardware platform that other companies create games/software for, so it's that second role that is being referenced in this case, as many people do. That's why there are third-party Nintendo games. It's not hard to understand if you employ a little common sense instead of insisting on being purposely obtuse/difficult.

edit: and technically there are second-party Nintendo games as well -- i.e. games that Nintendo either funded or partnered with another company for, but did not actually develop themselves. For example Bayonetta 2, Astral Chain, Cadence of Hyrule, etc.
