Hey all, the promo is actually just for this specific opener. You have to buy this chamberlain opener to get the $49 install. Other brands don't qualify.

For example, a genie opener still has the $138 install fee.

I'm thinking you would need to buy the new opener + the install (and have the person install the one you already have) and then return the opener you bought online.

I install these myself, at least they get done correctly. Most HD installers have been total crap since COVID.

People pay $49 for install and think they're getting it installed within one business day during the hottest part of summer. Home depot prolly got a lot of orders. Trying to get all these orders fulfilled by installers/contractors will take some time I'm guessing. Give them two business days to call at least. Especially during Father's day week. Maybe they cancel all the orders, but panicking on the first business day (Monday) after ordering that you haven't been called is a little impatient.

The garage company called me at 8:30 this morning with an appointment for Wednesday afternoon. They are a top-rated company.

How is expecting Home Depot to follow their own policy impatient?

I wonder if it depends on your area and how many orders came in for the region. I'm sure Home Depot only contracts with a limited number of partners in each region.

I'm in Phoenix and got a call today (hardware was delivered yesterday). The person was nice and asked me a few questions to ensure the appointment goes smoothly. For example, they pointed out that I need to buy an extension kit since my garage door is 8ft tall. I did not know this. Install takes place early next week.

Tipping is optional, but in your case I would tip him $50 for a job done well.

My local HD called saying the installation is wrongly billed it's $138 not $49 and they will cancel the install and charge me $138 for it to get it installed 🙄

Told them about the promo on Chamberlain - they ask me to call online order support - what a mess

Did anybody else have trouble getting the installation added to the cart?

I finally used a different browser and was able to check the box for $49 installation, but now after I select the box it does appear in my cart during the checkout
