He also wants to sell you ✨️ tonewood ✨️ and tries to convince you that it dramatically affects the tone of an electric guitar in a way that cannot be verified or proven with science because ...violins.

So, I'm not sure Paul Reed Smith, the expensive electric guitar salesman who believes in magic, is someone that you should consider to be a trustworthy authority on the topic.

I put a black pickguard and vintage style bridge on mine.
Oh I love the ash tray bridge. I dont have any experience modding guitars but that looks really nice.

No modifications were made to the guitar. Drop in replacement.

I bit and bought one. Arrived with paint damage around the cutaway and near the input jack. Very little packaging...there were only 6 Adorama-branded air pillows in the box, of the 6, 4 had popped. I had to place a replacement order, which they "upgraded" to second day air, but ground gets it here in 2 days anyways so not really much of an upgrade. 4th purchase in the last year from Adorama and this one is definitely the most disappointing.

Guys keep in mind that the Charvel's are MIM (Not sure about the factory location in Mexico) too at a much higher price point than the player series and are know for their out of the box fretwork. I don't think its a MIM problem as much as a culture problem.

Just ordered 1 lets see what happens out of the box. I plan to replace most of this guitar except the neck which I sand the fret edges with knife sharpening blocks that are so much faster.Thats what I did my guild which came with horrendous fret work but after my sanding blocks its a champion at all frets and top of the neck edge at 45 degrees approximately speaking.

My suggestion is the Mustang LT25, as a great amp to get you started and that you won't need to replace once you're playing without headphones.
If you're goal is to play in small public settings and you can afford it, the Mustang LT50 is the way to go.

So just got it delivered today, Action bit high, Fretwork Immaculate. Almost cannot feel the fret edges as I lightly stroke the neck .. ahem. No cracks or finish issues noticed yet. Action took about 15 minutes to adjust. Ready to go gigging.

Thanks - I decided to get the Mustang Micro for now for portability and convenience. I am a rank beginner and have the telecaster scheduled for delivery tomorrow. I tried the Micro out with my electric acoustic and it really sounds awesome IMO as a newbie !

Hey - I was looking at the Adorama slick deal on the Pro-Mod and couldn't find where it was made (Green Glow -$599) .

I found photos on another site that shows the back of this model with a Made in Korea label. Do you know where the MiK models would stack up with the MiM or MiA?

All Players are made in Mexico. Players and Player Plus's. The greeny is MIM as well. The player plus series compete with the entry Corona factory American Performer series.

Thanks for that - I find determining he country of origin for the Charvels to be confusing. Not that it really matter where they are made as long as the QC is comparable>

But I had always heard (during my 1 week of research!) that the Charvel was MiM. But I did see photos of the plate on the back of the neck that seem to say "Made in Korea" - though it is very hard to read on such a small product photo. Attached is what i am talking about....

Oiy, I've been looking to get another guitar for some reason, I don't need one, but this makes the decision more difficult. I had it down to either a GnL tribute deluxe
Or a Gretsch G5622. The oh my Tele is I made in Mexico guitar, right? Yeah I think so. The g&l tribute I think is Indonesia, and I can't quite nail down if the gretsch is Korea or China. I already have two Korean Gretsch guitars, but I hesitate if the semi hollow is made in China.
