one nice thing about the macbook pro 13.3 is that it can also be passively cooled.. but it can also utilize fans so that it doesn't thermal throttle... that said I don't know how well that works out, but it's nice to have both options.. and since m1 is cool.. and apple is aggressive with letting things throttle at the expensive of lower noise (not turning fans on) you get the best of both worlds. and i'm sure this is great for general use, too lmfao. there is no downside of having fans in M series macs.

ppl saying that "no fans" is a big win are .. well, let's just say special. mbp users always boast about how the fans rarely turn on.. it's no different here. lmfao.. apple consumer logic is so bizarre
No fans, no moving parts, no noise. What's wrong with that for a general purpose laptop? Getting worked up over someone else's preference is "special".

I think thats an AIR? This is a PRO?
This pro has the basic M1 chip. It felt similar to the pro. I have this pro with the pro chip as my daily driver. The biggest difference is having the HDMI port. The basic M1 chip also only support only one external display.

I would get a new air than a 3 year old "pro" with the same chip.

Pretty sure you are the special one who has no first hand knowledge as you said so yourself but want to wonder into every Mac thread to give your take. lol. 😂

I rather get the Air M1 because Touch Bar is not very useful and I rather hit the dedicate function keys. There are more ports on a pro and fan doesn't matter to me.

My primary is Airs now when I go out and I can't stress it enough to care about thermal issues.

Also. Air M1 is new. Geek squad is refurb and condition will vary.

The laptop in this deal has the same ports as the M1 MacBook Air.

I think I'd rather pay $100 more to get a brand new M1 Air from Walmart.

"Best Buy Refurbished" basically means "used". Obviously you get the benefit of taking/sending it back without hassle if it doesn't meet expectations.
I think I'd rather pay $100 less to get this instead.

This has a fan and an upgraded GPU, and if you like the Touch Bar, that's an advantage. Plus you can return it without hassle, online returns at Walmart are a bit of a hassle.

Micro Center usually has deals on M1 Pro machines for around $1000, you can find other deals on BackMarket and other sites too.

Absolute hell no. Buy this or a new MBA M1 at Walmart, sure those have less RAM but this will smoke the i5 machine.

Check out the new arm based Microsoft surface coming out in the next few weeks. Its supposed to be as fast as m3 and really long battery life. You can take notes and program on the same computer

90 day warranty on this, vs. 1-year via Walmart MacBook.
Neither one is a terrible buy/mistake, but understanding all the differences is key to making the right choice.
