Why this is over the second gen again? Besides $140 different....
thank you. Gen 1 supports Google Assistant, Gen 2 does not. Both support Amazon Alexa and Sonos voice control.

Gen 2 has double the battery life and slightly different design. Touch slider for volume instead of touch buttons Not sure but I think Gen 2 also supports bluetooth sharing with another Move 2 or Sonos device. If you don't need all that extra battery life, this is a great deal even at the current $249 price. Hope this helps.
Just got the move 2 from Costco for $335. If I can find this deal at my Costco, would be better to get a pair of these for an additional $65 and return the move 2?

Depends on what you consider more of a priority: battery life or the stereo sound. Two Move 1s will definitely sound better than one Move 2. However, the Move 2 has significantly better battery life than the Move 1
It is a WIFI speaker/mic which is how it designed. It is OK to use it as a Bluetooth speaker via cellphone so you use it as a speaker outside.
For desktop, I really find it unnecessary to choose Move 1/2 as speaker. You have many more choices easily.

Rtings say it's the same battery life despite the marketing material fluff
honestly, i think this is the speaker that you only want one and does not want to pair. I barely think there is an occasion that you lug 2X 6.5 pounds sonos moves to pair outdoor. to pair indoor. you lose the portability. I havent tried gen 2, but this gen 1 sounds terrific. When I need music in the garadge or in the backyard, I just grab it and go. I think that's the whole point of this speaker.

Gen 2 has two tweeters, opposed to one bottom facing tweeter, huge difference in clarity and vocals.

Set up with the Sonos app on your Apple or Android phone.
Great deal, as I was waiting on refurbs on the Move 1.
