May as well get some elbow grease while you're at it.

Hmmm says for use in lubricating machines. Could I use this for a garage door chain?

This is called grease, so it is probably pretty thick. The only parts of a chain that need lubrication is where the pins and rollers meet, which is on the inside of the chain. So added grease to the outside of the chain is only going to make a mess. For a chain, put a drop of oil on each link and let it soak in. It sounds like it will take a long time, but it doesn't. Once done, go back wipe off any excess oil on the chain.

My friend used to send new helpers to Home Depot and Lowes looking for the "replacement bubble" for bubble levels. Just the air bubble Wink

Thanks OP. I saw my hammer drills had grease in them and I knew I needed to add more the next time I break them out. Wasn't sure what kind, was just going to grab some red bearing grease off the shelf. Now I have a little bottle I can put in the case with the bits.
