HF is 8V (vs 12V) and not brushless, so the Dremel is a lot more powerful. Yes, they have comparable RPM, but the power difference means the Harbor Freight will get stuck doing anything more than polishing soft materials, while the Dremel can actually cut things. (Plus 2ah vs 3ah battery)

Good deal, but man I wish they had a better chuck for these things after all these years. the design is awful.

How does this compare to Harbor Freight's $50 version with more attachment?

I think the biggest difference is that the handheld part of the Ryobi is thinner and more maneuverable, as long as you don't mind being tethered to the base. But people do seem to like the flex shafts.

The Ryobi should be more powerful because it's 18V instead of 12, both brushless.

But a lot of people dislike Ryobi's quick-change collet designs.

I recently bought a brand new 8240 for $80 OTD, any reasons to return it and buy this one instead? I know this version is brushless, but I'm not sure if it's actually worth an extra $30 for a refurb version (plus the hassle)

I have this one but if I didn't I would get the Ryobi. I almost exclusively use the flex extension on this one, and with the Ryobi being more powerful and the fact I have a bunch of batteries already it makes more sense in my situation.

Brushless motor=more cutting power.

And based on videos, the 8250 has a more ergonomic handle.

But only you can decide if it's worth the upgrade.

This post made me search up the Milwaukee M12 Rotary tool which is in fact $99 at HD. However, it's currently listed on Amazon at $85, or even $75 used in "like new" condition. Does anyone know how the Milwaukee compares to this Dremel?

Edit: upon further inspection I noticed that the Amazon listing doesn't include the battery and charger, which explains the price difference. The HD deal does in fact seem to be superior.

Hello my toenails have fungus in them so they look and almost taste like Cheetos growing out of my toes. Will this be strong enough to grind them down?

You need the noveon laser treatment, or persistent treatment with tea tree oil.

In the mean time, yes this can grind your cheetoes into a fine powder that you can sell on eBay
