Here is the response of Motorola to unlock of Tracfone Moto G Power 5G 2024 (XT2415V) in the Lenovo Forum. Basically, it states that Tracfone is only one that can solve the problem.

"Thank you for reaching out. I have received your IMEI via PM and I was able to check into this further. Tracfone, and many other carriers are now using Remote Unlock on some devices, this allows the carrier to unlock your device without the need for an unlock code. Your device uses this remote unlock method.

Since Tracfone stated the phone would be unlocked after 24 hours I would wait until that time has elapsed then try inserting a SIM (not a Tracfone SIM) in the device to see if it works. If it doesn't you may need to reach back out to Tracfone to see if something needs to be updated in their system to allow the unlock.

Unfortunately, Tracfone is the only one that can help with this concern. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Becky"

Better to just order it online at Straight Talk website then. You can get 2 of them for $75 and also get around $7 back from cash back shopping site.

Thanks a lot for the steps.
Do I need to call Straight Talk support to get it unlocked or it's automatic?
Almost automatic -- there should be an unlock option in the Settings that you can hit while connected to wifi after 60 days

Thanks for the instruction.

Quick question on unlock. According to the policy: "For cellphones activated with new service on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, at least sixty (60) days must have elapsed since the cellphone was activated. For any active cellphones, notification of the phone's unlock eligibility will be sent via SMS along with a link to the website where the unlock process can be accessed."

When will one receive such a SMS? In the first month or at the end of 60 days? If it is at the end of 60 days, don't you need to have an active service to receive SMS? Thanks.
Once you've activated then you can text "unlock" to 611611 to check status and date (might have to text it twice) -- no problem with unlocking Pixel 6a and Moto G Power 2023 from Total/Tracfone (same company) using the Settings menu earlier this year for me (paid for 1mo service on each separately and waited 2mo)

I have the Motorola G Power 5G ; and the phone is a Beast. The battery lasts 1.5 days with constant usage. I'm not sure why my iPhone can't do that.
how are the pics and videos? have you unlocked and tried on different service? Does wifi calling and texting work? thanks

My Walmart has them, but couldn't activate in store without a Smart Talk rep present, and they don't have them at this location anymore.

Are they the idiots, or am I?

Serious question, why buy more if you don't use them?
because i spend too much time on slickdeals! i use some for drone screens and keeping certain apps away from my data. I turned one into an android auto. hopefully will make good use of all some day. like little smart home touchscreens in every room?

Do you know for sure if it has the bands for all the carriers? Do you know if it can be used overseas?

- Buy phone and activate with 1mo service
- Don't pay for 2nd mo and let the phone sit (or use as wifi device if you want)
- Wait 60-61 days from activation date for the phone to unlock then use it on any carrier you want

I would not trust it. Even says it is expandable to 16GB. I have never seen a phone with expandable RAM.

Lots of people had same problem over the holidays with the SE3 deal. Just buy from Straight Talk website, same price.

It's virtual ram using the storage. My Moto G Stylus 5g 2023 just updated to Android 14 and it has a option now in the settings. The Base ram is 6gb and I can select 2/4/6gb as "RAM" boost. Don't know how much it actually helps with tho.

According to your note, sounds like as long as phone is activated i can use sim on other phone.. correct?

Thanks for the info, can I swap the Sim card out use it on my unlocked phone and phone still eligible for unlock?
Yes, but pretty sure you will have to contact support before the SIM will be usable in a different device.

I have recently, usually used different SIMs and the online activation to switch phones

Maybe 2 years ago, pre Verizon buyout, simply dropping the current sim in the different phone would work fine

If you port the number on day 31-60, can anyone confirm that it will (or should) still unlock as of day 61+?

With all the Tracfone brands, you need to buy a BYOD sim if you want to move the service to another phone. SIM swapping doesn't work since the sim is tied to the IMEI. It's for security reasons they say.

Is the deal dead? Just tried checking out both with and without a CB portal.

The 2FA code from my CC is received and entered, but the order screen shows blank and no transaction history shows up.
