Here is the response of Motorola to unlock of Tracfone Moto G Power 5G 2024 (XT2415V) in the Lenovo Forum. Basically, it states that Tracfone is only one that can solve the problem.

"Thank you for reaching out. I have received your IMEI via PM and I was able to check into this further. Tracfone, and many other carriers are now using Remote Unlock on some devices, this allows the carrier to unlock your device without the need for an unlock code. Your device uses this remote unlock method.

Since Tracfone stated the phone would be unlocked after 24 hours I would wait until that time has elapsed then try inserting a SIM (not a Tracfone SIM) in the device to see if it works. If it doesn't you may need to reach back out to Tracfone to see if something needs to be updated in their system to allow the unlock.

Unfortunately, Tracfone is the only one that can help with this concern. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Becky"

Better to just order it online at Straight Talk website then. You can get 2 of them for $75 and also get around $7 back from cash back shopping site.

It has in the past - just be aware that you lose the ST month plan but that still makes phone pretty cheap. I've always activated the sister brands online as a TF keeping my current number & have had no issues (did it with several ST and TbyV phones). Seems to be a generic TF brand sim that will activate to first TF brand service you use. If you do have problems activating call support & have them rebrand/activate on TF.
Quote from JaTaN :
Wait for unlock

ST phone will only work with ST service -- you can "rebrand" the phone by asking TF CS but that will probably screw with the unlock if you alrdy activated the phone on ST

If its a new unused phone (IMEI never activated) then you can rebrand it first & activate it on TF/ST/Total carrier you want to start the unlock timer. I
bought a new Pixel 6a from Total (just the phone without plan) and had TF CS rebrand & activate on TF plan -- no problem unlocking it after 60 days
Huh, I didn't know it was that straight forward. So just activate as *keep number* and it rebrands automatically? Good to know.

This 2024 phone has a worst cpu than the 2023 Moto Stylus that was about the same deal price. And the display might be a bit worst too?
Quote from AmusedClub1198 :
i don't think you can see any differences between two 2 displays lol, 2024 cpu is just slightly lower (according to benchmark from google)
To me, the difference between having a SnapDragon vs MediaTek processor is the major drawback. Still leery of phones with MT, personally. Otherwise, I'd jump at this offer and buy another needless phone. It is a great deal, however.

I have a Moto G Power 2020 phone, bought used, unlocked a few years ago. It still gets over 2 days of battery. There is some motorola bloat included that I haven't figured out how to remove, but it is far better than my other recent devices and I've already had more years of support than my only Google fone - a Nexus4.

I'm on a RedPocklet 360 day plan for $60 total (not monthly) now using AT&T's network. Works well. The prior 2 years, I didn't have any cellular plan at all. Didn't need one. I realize this is odd for most people. If I spent time in a big city and was more social, perhaps a case could be made for a cellular plan, but I doubt it. I assume RedPocket is selling my location and other data to subsidize the plan, but I really don't know. They have plans for $100/yr which should meet the needs for nearly anyone who isn't a traveling sales-person.

Cell phones are a convenience. They are not a necessity. Treat them as such and you'll be happier.

If I decide that a new phone is necessary, this model will be on my short list for consideration. The 2022 version was a step backwards from the 2020 version, so sometimes design choice mistakes get made.

You can have both the pSIM and eSIM in "standby" mode ready to receive an incoming call, but there can only be one on-going call at a time. You need to designate either the pSIM or the eSIM as the default Primary SIM for outgoing calls, but you can switch that designation anytime.

I don't have this Moto G Power 2024, but that's how it works on my Metro Moto Razr and Metro Moto G Stylus 5G 2023.
Can you have two e-sims active, one for calls and one for data?

But you have to request to Straight talk to unlock the phone right?
There should be an unlock option in the Settings menu that you can hit after 60 days (connect to wifi)
Quote from cool2590 :
How did you unlock after 60 days. Was it automatically or you have to contact TF customer sevice. How did you contacted TF customer service?
Text "unlock" to 611611 (might have to text twice) to get unlock date after activation -- connect to wifi and hit the unlock option in Settings menu after that date

You need to contact CS and find someone that will rebrand the phone for new activation -- I had a new unused Total phone (never activated or attached to any service) that I wanted to activate on TF so I had TF CS rebrand it and activate it on TF plan

Not sure about rebranding for existing service -- probably safer to wait for 60 day unlock if its alrdy attached to service

Dead at Straight Talk.

Too bad, I was debating one for me and my mom. I thought my phone was a Motorola Stylus 2022/2023, turns out it's a 2021. When I went to buy them they are now OOS.

Yeah, in my case, I have an existing TF line. I was hoping that it's possible to activate/rebrand in one online transaction without needing to call CS. Not necessarily for this phone deal but just to expand the potential phone pool.

I think MediaTeks can be good, I don't have any brand issues with MediaTek. Games might not be optimized for MediaTek processors, but you're not going to be gaming much at these prices.

My point is just that the processor is objectively worst than last year's similarly priced phone, regardless of cpu brand.

I don't have much experiece with using eSIM, I've only used eSIM briefly with a Mint trial. My Andoid phones with eSIM can store multiple eSIMs but only one eSIM can be active at a time. iPhones with no pSIM can have two active eSIMs. Perhaps someone who use iPhones and/or eSIM can chime in.

I've not needed to contact support in the past since the phones activated between brands online. Will let you know if this is the same, going to activate mine (on TF) later today - just waiting on UPS.

I think this will be a 4GB RAM model. Cricket wireless sells a 4GB version of this. I think all MVNO selling this at a discount are doing the 4GB one.

Straight Talk website lists phone as 8GB (not 4) & it's not green. Different phone.
