Here is the response of Motorola to unlock of Tracfone Moto G Power 5G 2024 (XT2415V) in the Lenovo Forum. Basically, it states that Tracfone is only one that can solve the problem.

"Thank you for reaching out. I have received your IMEI via PM and I was able to check into this further. Tracfone, and many other carriers are now using Remote Unlock on some devices, this allows the carrier to unlock your device without the need for an unlock code. Your device uses this remote unlock method.

Since Tracfone stated the phone would be unlocked after 24 hours I would wait until that time has elapsed then try inserting a SIM (not a Tracfone SIM) in the device to see if it works. If it doesn't you may need to reach back out to Tracfone to see if something needs to be updated in their system to allow the unlock.

Unfortunately, Tracfone is the only one that can help with this concern. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Becky"

Better to just order it online at Straight Talk website then. You can get 2 of them for $75 and also get around $7 back from cash back shopping site.

Really wish Moto still had a few budget models that weren't ginormous. I've got a few 23 Moto's but usually keep my 2nd sim in an old G7 Power or Pixel 6a cuz they're smaller.
Budget and small phones are hard to find nowadays. I too prefer smaller Android phones, no taller than 150mm, preferrably around 145mm. I've been using Samsung S22, S23, S24. They're not cheap, but I got them new around $300-$350 with Google Fi deals. I also got a Moto Razr 2023 from a Metro deal. It's an alternative if you want to stick with Moto.

There's the Nokia C100, but it comes with Android 12 and Nokia is very bad at updating software. I had a Nokia G400 last year. It remained at Android 12 and didn't get any update during the 6 months that I owned it.

My phones were ordered 6/13 and will be arriving this afternoon. Will try to see one, locally, ASAP, activate the other and then toss it in a drawer for 2 months before putting on Tello.

My main phone is a S21FE from the last Metro deal about 6 months ago.

Qlink is still free via Lifeline, but with reduced benefits (Unlimited Talk/Text, 4.5GB Data. 2GB Hotspot per month). When ACP was in effect, I think it was Unlimited Talk/Text, 30(?) GB Data). I hardly use Data so don't keep track of how much they give each month.
Your real world speed tests on data and hotspot when you get some opportunities for testing, would be much appreciated?

I have very poor 5G signal from T-mo here (my main service is with Tracfone/Verizon). The network settings for Qlink eSIM on my S24 phone don't have the option to choose 4G/LTE. Speedtest results are terrible. When I was using the Qlink pSIM with my Samsung A51, I could select 4G/LTE and got better signal. I didn't test hotspot.

That's the thing about Tmobile. If you're in a bad signal area the speeds can be horrendous or non existent but urban areas or near a tower there can be speeds upwards of 500mbps even topping a gb once.

Ugh, nevermind, UPS is incompetent and must have mishandled the package. Not coming today anymore.

Qlink caps speed at 1Mbps its pretty horrible service. Compared to other Lifeline Providers. Safelink is Tracfones Lifeline Provider it was just increased to 10GB Data this month.
