Here is the response of Motorola to unlock of Tracfone Moto G Power 5G 2024 (XT2415V) in the Lenovo Forum. Basically, it states that Tracfone is only one that can solve the problem.

"Thank you for reaching out. I have received your IMEI via PM and I was able to check into this further. Tracfone, and many other carriers are now using Remote Unlock on some devices, this allows the carrier to unlock your device without the need for an unlock code. Your device uses this remote unlock method.

Since Tracfone stated the phone would be unlocked after 24 hours I would wait until that time has elapsed then try inserting a SIM (not a Tracfone SIM) in the device to see if it works. If it doesn't you may need to reach back out to Tracfone to see if something needs to be updated in their system to allow the unlock.

Unfortunately, Tracfone is the only one that can help with this concern. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Becky"

Better to just order it online at Straight Talk website then. You can get 2 of them for $75 and also get around $7 back from cash back shopping site.

They told me the same thing as you with one caveat. It had to be a CDMA sim card. Note, Verizon no longer uses the CDMA network. Their sims are GSM/LTE sims just like Tmobile and AT&T. Total BS, I know. The two or three hour wait in a new lie/rule they invented with you.
who knows, maybe tomorrow when she calls back she will tell me to pinch my nose as i put the sim and twirl on tippy-toe while restarting the phone

at this point, i've given up on this phone ever getting unlocked. i'm just squeezing any laughter i can get out of the head-scratcher responses i'll get

Wonder why some are unlocking automatically fine while others are having issues. My 2 unlocked without any problems. My friend who flips phones as a side hustle has 6 so far unlocked without issue. Still waiting on 8 more to reach unlock date.

Read somewhere before that if you are connected to a wifi network with a very strict security policy like a zero trust firewall then the command to unlock a phone may be blocked. Might be worth trying connecting to a different network like another phone's hotspot and rebooting to see if it makes a difference.

Also the $7 from cashback site for buying the 2 phones finally became confirmed after over 2 months. Now have to wait another 3 months for it to become payable. lol

Did you and your friend use the phone in the 30 days or was it activated online and just kept in a drawer for 60 days.

Agree, lost cause.

I will put it on Craigslist for $20, I am sure someone will want it who has Straight Talk or wants a music player or something.

Mine were definitely in use for the 30 days the lines were active since I installed a bunch of bandwidth sharing apps on them and left them alone connected to a charger. These are apps that pay you for using your internet connection to scrap and collect data. Probably earned around $7 or $8 from each phone for the 30 days.

I bought 2, activated 1 on 6/21 and the other on 6/29. I use both everyday, wifi only after day 30. The 6/21 was unlocked automatically yesterday. I didn't do the unlock texting as stated in the wiki.

There has to be something with manufacture data of the phones or initial ST programming date, I would venture to guess.

Mine shows the purchase and $0 payable...appealing that now. Thanks for the reminder!

I contacted the FCC on August 19. They sent the case to ST on August 19 in the evening, and I just heard from ST today. So, things have been moving quickly so far.
The agent showed professionalism by working on her computer for 15 minutes and asking precise questions. At the end of the call, she initiated an escalation ticket and assured me that she would manage my case and be in touch within 3 days.

ST called from 800-253-1842, as someone in this thread also reported. If you are expecting a call for the FCC case, I suggest you save the number on your phone number.

So far, I'm happy with the progress. I'll report once I know the result of the escalation.

That's what happens with all FCC complaints, it's not actually "progress" because no one is fixing anything yet.
To me progress would be acknowledging they have a problem with this model unlocking and offering customers a solution, not excuses - it's been 10 days since people first started complaining to support & so far they won't even admit something is screwed up.

Didn't get a call from ST today so I plan to call them tomorrow. I did scour the internet to see if anyone has found a solution yet. A few reports on Reddit about the locked phone issues but mostly people are just posting about the deal on Reddit, Howard Forums, Turk forums, etc. Heck, people from Canada are even importing these phones.

This is looking to be a mess if these network lock issues keep cropping up. The used marketplace might be flooded with these locked phones if no one can figure out how to unlock them.

Did you update the phones before they were unlocked or just left as is and updated after unlock?
