Seems like a lot of people whose phone is still locked took out the original ST SIM at some point. Maybe the SIM has to be in the phone for 60 days? I just know I left both SIMs in my phones & they both unlocked.
Wrong. Let's stop spreading incorrect statements here.

This is a ST issue, nothing the user has done would have impacted this.

Wrong! I have my sim in my 2 phones for 60 days already and they are still locked. I never remove the SIM from both phones.

i got a call for my bbb escalation. although i was expecting a 3rd call for my fcc escalation, as they promised last week, i haven't. but this new call is for my bbb escalation. i told the agent everything i've done so far. after a 10-minute hold when they spoke with "another department". i was told that the other department said to try putting a different sim and wait a few hours to see if the refresh for the unlock will take since they'd already unlocked it on their end. i calmly asked, "didn't i just tell you a few minutes ago that that is one of the steps i already tried and it didn't work?" he just said he told them that and that was the response he got. he also said that the "other department" suggested that if it is still unlocked, to call the manufacturer.

i guess there's no new script.

i'm just monitoring this thread to see if ANYONE who had this issue finally got their device unlocked. until then, i'm not trying anything anymore AGAIN (since i've already tried them all). i've already boxed my locked phone ready for sale. either i get a buyer or someone here confirms that a fix is now working, whichever comes first.

UPDATE:
I received a call from ST's (2nd update) escalation desk for an update. She said, "I can confirm this is not an isolated issue, but it affects multiple users with this specific phone, and our teams are working on a fix. I can't give an ETA, but I'll continue to manage the escalation."

So, at least I know what is happening (they finally said that it's an operational problem they own). Hopefully, with so many people complaining, they will have a fix soon.

She did not try to push the issue on me (try this, reboot, call Motorola, etc) . In fact, she did 95% of the talking.

Thanks, that's the first positive response from anyone. Hopefully unlock dept reps are made aware and they stop telling people to do useless things to unlock. (though from past experience updated information doesn't seem to get distributed to support in a timely manner, it took ages for them to realize there was a change in the unlock policy)

Do suggest to record any conversation with TF or ST.

Especially if they own the issue.

Could be helpful if need to continue to pursue.

It's August 26 now. Not June.
Thanks for pointing that out. It is now corrected in my original post.

The unlock portal (tfwunlockpolicy.com) and Unlocking Dept (1-888-442-5102) that everyone is dealing with for locked ST phone is Tracfone Unlocking dept. ST is TF subsidiary company and provides sale and customer support. Technical and unlocking support is handled by TF. We should file complaint about TF not ST on unlocking issue. See the attachment for details.
It's all one and the same, makes no difference.

I just the same phone call with the same message about 5 mins ago. They told me an ETA of 2 hours but we all know its going to be longer.

The CSR told me that she did not have an ETA. She was pretty upfront about it.

Go to fcc. Write straight talk told you that they don't have the solution. Repeat that your phone is still locked.

Not really yikes, some people have been since 8/13 or so, if I recall.

Let's face it, we got screwed by ST. Hopefully you still have the option to dispute with your CC company.
