Great price! FYI for readers: it's 370 lb worth of weights PLUS the barbell. The weight of the barbell is not included in the weight!

If you intend on deadlifting, clean and jerk etc basically any exercise that involves dropping the weight,'you want bumper.

Lifter Math: What's 45 plus 45? 135.

I'm assuming the bar is very low quality?
I actually have a balancefrom bar. Not 100% that it's this exact one but looks that way from the pictures. Quality is actually much better than I expected. It's not rogue but it gets the job done. Knurling is just about perfect and the bushings spin freely. I have been to commercial gyms with noticeably worse bars.

If you drop your deadlifts...you either need to work on your grip strength.. or your attitude.

You'd definitely want to get some additional plates on the low end for good progressive overload. I always recommend having 4x5lb and 2x2.5lb weights to maximize every lift, especially on isolation exercises that aren't going to go up in weight every session and some compound lifts like bent over rows.

Bumper plates are definitely the go to for powerlifting because like it was stated earlier, they're good for dropping and many lifts in powerlifting is about moving the bar from A to B, holding there and then dropping it, not A to B and back to A. You aren't doing the later unless you're doing hypertrophy/bodybuilding training.

It doesn't hurt to have them for your garage concrete floor, just for reduced sound annoyance.

Rubber horse stall mats from tractor supply help, but really bumper plates plus the rubber stall mats are the best combination for reduced sound annoyance.

If you want to buy weights for just yourself, great get whatever you want. But if you're buying them for the whole family, it really does help to be considerate of more than just "I pick up heavy things and then put them down".

If you have kids, and they are going to lift with you in the garage, they are definitely going to drop the weights as well. And some kids feel worse due to the sound. So that's another consideration.

Just man up and buy a set of Rogue's, Ivanko's or York's.
Your wallet wont thank you.

Anyone received discolored weights in the same box? So far I have two 10lbs that are completely different shades. Hell one of them is a different shade on each side.
