Anyone know if Chase would consider an ACH transfer from fidelity brokerage (not IRA) a direct deposit?
With my wifes Citibank acct a monthly transfer from Fidelity qualifies her for free checking, it is ACH.

I never understand what the annoyance, it took like 10 minutes (if you are SUPER slow) to add an account to TD or to change you direct deposit. It takes a minutes or 2 to track whether you completed the qualification on Chase app each time.. Let said you check 10 times over the deals then 20 mins. 30 minutes of work. For 3 months and 30 minutes you effective getting 20% of return.
I accept your reasoning for your set-up. I have additional factors, such as, I'm my own employee. (For specific reasons, this is the only direct deposit I would do). I also have other factors to consider related to my management methods of my overall assets. That's why I used the term 'annoyance'.

No, Chase wouldn't consider an ACH transfer from Fidelity brokerage (not IRA) a direct deposit. Direct deposits are typically initiated by an employer or government agency to send funds to your account, while ACH transfers are initiated by you to move your own money between accounts.

I actually use my Fidelity money management account for this purpose with lots of services, including Chase. I last used it in 2022 for this deal but it counted then as direct deposit. Most other services I've dealt with also consider money from Fidelity to be direct deposits, probably because many employers use Fidelity financial services.

Does Chase accept transfer from TD (now Schwab) as DIRECT DEPOSIT? That would make it super easy for some to transfer $1 to earn the bonus from Chase.

How long do we need to keep the savings account open for before we can close it?

I have an existing checking out with them for many years but I closed my savings account with them over 10 years ago.

if this offers expires in july. Does that mean you have to complete the qualification activities for the bonus before the expiration date, or just open the account before that day?

Just need to start the process by then. It will probably get extended. They keep extending it.

With any of these bank bonus deals, study the Ts & Cs, set calendar dates for the milestones in the plan then if they stiff you file a BBB complaint.
I did the account opening in person with one of their wealth adviser. He actually called in and make sure I qualified before opening the accounts for me. Months later, they denied the bonus. Went back to the same adviser who checked with Corporate and was not given a reason for the denial.

Never trust Chase.

I signed up myself and my wife on different accounts last February. We both cashed out a couple of weeks ago. Nice getting $900 a piece for just a little work. Of course we will have to pay taxes on it though.

https://www.doctorofcredit.com/ta...ngs-bonus/ has a lot information on it. Read the comments at the bottom of the page for a lot of peoples experiences.

It's great until you realize it's taxable income

I have that exact problem when working. Know a way to avoid that situation?

Okay, I forgot a step. When you enroll online, it should confirm the promotion. If in branch, you'll need to ask for documentation. They might balk, but ask for something that shows the promotion was activated. Make sure you can retrieve it if the bank reneges.
