Terms say (assuming they haven't changed it since March) that you have 30 days from using the 'coupon' to get your money into the savings account, but the day counter starts when you open the account. This way you only have to keep your money in the Chase savings for a little over 60 days.
This is what I did and have already received my bonus. I did a test transfer of a small amount first to see how long it would take for the deposit to show up in my Chase savings so I know when to start my larger transfer. I ended up transferring it about 25 days after opening the account in case something happened to delay it by a day or two.
Thanks!!!!! (I'm getting 5% in high yield at the moment and was about to do the math to see if the bonus is worth it)
The terms from a few month ago do state "Your direct deposit needs to bean electronic deposit of your paycheck, pension or government benefits such as Social Security from your employer or the government. Person to Person payments such as Zelle are not considered a direct deposit. Micro-deposits do not qualify as a direct deposit for the bonus. Micro-deposits are small deposits, typically less than $1, that are sent to your account to verify it is the correct account.". I'm assuming the terms have not changed since then.

I have a $35 DD from Stubhub coming in the next few days, so we'll see. I already deposited 500 from BMO, ACH Push, but that didn't trigger anything.
